1 # _ Itâs been a week. Captain Black & I have spent considerable time in each othersâ company this week. // 2 # _ Midterms. Thankfully many friends made the week bearable. // 3 # & 4 # _ Tuesday had me in my doctorsâ office, to Leeceive the results from the MRI scan. Graciously, nothing is seriously damaged. // {{ Triathlon Torture Tribe training had me on Lee-Rex on Wednesday, in the pool on Thursday & running today }} // 5 # _ Wednesday had me on the âsycle for 45 minutes. // 6 # _ ~300 meters in the pool on Thursday. // 7 # & 8 # _ Got an idea for another piece of equipment (while Leesearching a different tool) on Amazon this week... and I Leesent to you a new addition to my line up: a truck-less skateboard with a pvc âfoamâ roller underneath. Makes for a fun challenge! // 9 # _ 1 3/4 miles of running! First run in 2020. First run in a while. // 10 # _ But most importantLee this week, my friend Gene had his life celebrated with a closing program service yesterday. Gene was a legend in my small town. I keep thinking about how when I saw him, youâd see this great big smile cross my face. I couldnât help but enjoy his company. Always had time to talk with people. Thought outside the box. A wonderfully creative mind, and gifted man. His inquiries of my schooling meant a lot to me. / I remember going for runs... and hearing this clomp-clomp sound down the street. It would be Gene.. running in big snow boots. Again, I smile just thinking about it. What a guy. I thoroughly enjoyed his friendship. Iâm having a hard time accepting that he has passed away. I miss Gene. / One of the many things he will be remembered for is memorialized on the north side of his welding shop: the burn marks. He alerted his next door neighbours to the fire that was consuming their home, and they were saved. My brother bought that home years later, and I had the privilege of living there with him, and being next door to Gene. He had a beautiful spirit. Gene was a generous man. A God-fearing man. / I sincerely thank those who called the ambulance when they found Gene, and those who tried to save his life. Thank you most kindly. / Thank You, Lord, for the life of Gene, and for his friendship.
