Please note that Chute Lake Lodge will be closed to the public during the following dates and times for private events:

• Friday, September 4 at 12 PM until Sunday, September 6 at 12 PM
• Friday, September 11 at 12 PM until Sunday, September 13 at 12 PM
• Thursday, September 17 at 12 PM until Sunday, September 20 at 12 PM

🌲 We will be open to the public throughout the week between these private events.

Rain fell over the weekend, but it wasn't the same throughout our stewardship region on the Trans Canada Trail. We recommend no trace camping and only using established campsites. It's cooled a bit and the autumn colors are beginning.

Effective at 12 p.m. (noon) Pacific Time on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Category 1 campfires will be permitted throughout the Southeast Fire Centre, which includes the Rocky Mountain Natural Resource District and the Selkirk Natural Resource District.

Other activities which were previously included in the Category 1 campfire prohibition (The use of sky lanterns, and the use of wood fired hot tubs, wood fired pizza ovens and other wood fired devices unless vented through a structure that has a flue and is incorporated in a building) will now be permitted in the Southeast Fire Centre.

Category 2 and 3 open fire as defined in the Wildfire Regulation remains prohibited.

Taanishi Community Members!

We're so excited to announce that we have a Powwow coming up on Saturday, October 3rd! This Powwow will also serve as our annual recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day. All are welcome to attend, and please see the poster for details.

We're also looking for volunteers, vendors and anyone interested in dancing. If you or someone you know would like to be involved, please let us know. Otherwise, we hope to see you all there!
