Urchin harvesting in British Columbia is one of the most unique commercial fisheries in the world and very labour intensive. It combines the skill of commercial scuba diving with the knowledge of experienced harvesters who work in some of the most remote and challenging waters on the BC coast. Every sea urchin is hand-picked by divers, making it a selective fishery with virtually no bycatch and zero impact on the ocean floor. The fishery is recognized for producing some of the highest-quality Red and Green Sea Urchin (Uni) in the world. To find out more go to www.puha.org
