The Prince Rupert Port Authority is proud to support community-led efforts to rebuild salmon populations through the Skeena River Salmon Enhancement Program with the Witset First Nation.

PRPA has contributed $50,000 to advance the $142,000 Wet'suwet'en Fisheries Rebuilding Plan, which involves:

🐟 Tracking salmon returning to spawning grounds
📈 Collecting environmental and biological data
🏞️ Assessing the impacts of climate change
🌿 Identifying priority areas for future habitat protection and restoration

This important work supports the long-term recovery of sockeye salmon populations in the Bulkley and Morice River watersheds for future generations.

Fairview Container Terminal operator DP World has completed Phase 1 of its energy-efficient lighting upgrades on ship-to-shore cranes in partnership with BC Hydro.

Once Phase 2 has been implemented, the upgraded lighting is expected to reduce energy consumption by approximately 40% while improving visibility to support safe, efficient and reliable terminal operations.

This project reflects PRPA's ongoing commitment to working with terminal operators to advance energy efficiency through the Port's Energy Management Program.
