to 2025, when a contribution from the Prince Rupert Port Authority's Community Investment Fund played a significant role in the creation of a new Visiting Specialist Clinic at the Regional hospital.

The Northern Health facility is now fully equipped with medical and IT items that provide visiting physicians with the tools and support they require, enabling in-person clinics for a variety of specialized services.

We are now accepting online applications for new Community Investment Fund projects and will be hosting a drop in session October 20 at the Port Interpretive Centre to pitch your project in person. Visit https://www.rupertport.com/cif to learn more.

PRPA is proud to have contributed more than $429,000 for two recently completed salmon conservation projects led by the Lax Kw'alaams Band.

🐟 Project #1 - Design and build a pound net in the Skeena River to minimize impacts of fishing on marine ecosystems.
🐟 Project #2 - Install an automatic 24/7 salmon monitoring system that provides real-time accurate counts of all five salmon species.

Funding for both projects is provided through the Skeena River Salmon Enhancement Program, established in 2019 through the Community Investment Fund.

The last cruise ship of the 2026 season, the Noordam, by Holland America Line, is scheduled to arrive in Prince Rupert at 7 a.m. on October 7 and depart in the early morning on October 8.

The Zaandam, from Holland America Line, will visit Prince Rupert on Friday, October 2. The ship is scheduled to arrive around 7 a.m. and depart at 6 p.m.

to 2016, when the Prince Rupert Port Authority partnered up with the Gitxaala Nation via a contribution from the Community Investment Fund (CIF). The end result was a revitalized community kitchen, while adding a greenhouse and community garden in Lax Klan. This enabled the preservation of traditional practices and enhanced food security for the community.
