We're looking for the right person to join our team at YXS.

The Prince George Airport Authority is recruiting a Manager of Technology and Business Systems.

This isn't your typical technology role. You'll help lead the systems and technology that support a busy airport environment, working across the organization on everything from day-to-day operations and system improvements to cybersecurity, business continuity and future technology planning.

We're looking for someone who's technically strong, practical, collaborative and comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on problem solving.

We had some pretty impressive visitors at YXS today. ✈️

A group of U.S. military aircraft stopped in Prince George for fuel while travelling from Alaska to Oregon, giving our team a pretty unique view on the apron.

Not something you see at YXS every day!

Live Fire Training at YXS🔥

The Prince George Airport Authority will be conducting live fire training exercises on Tuesday, August 25, from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

During these exercises, members of the community may see smoke and fire in the vicinity of the airport. This is part of scheduled training for YXS emergency response personnel and is not a cause for concern.

Training exercises like these help our team maintain the skills and readiness needed to respond safely and effectively in an airport emergency.

Thank you for your understanding while this important scheduled training takes place.

Something new has landed at YXS.

We're excited to welcome Altitude Restaurant + Lounge, officially OPEN TODAY in the main terminal at Prince George Airport!

Operated by Noir Food Services Ltd., Altitude brings full-service dining back to YXS, with a new space to enjoy a meal, relax with a beverage or spend some time before your journey.

And you don't need to be travelling to visit.

Altitude is located before security, which means airport employees and members of the community are welcome too.

Today has been a long-awaited milestone for food and beverage services at YXS, and we're thrilled to finally open the doors.

Congratulations to the entire Noir Food Services team!

**Update: The primary checked baggage screening unit at YXS is back online and normal checked baggage screening operations have resumed.

Thank you to travellers for your patience and understanding while contingency screening procedures were in place today.**

Traveller Advisory: Checked Baggage Screening - This advisory is no longer in effect.

The primary checked baggage screening unit at YXS is currently out of service. Checked baggage continues to be screened using the backup unit located in International Arrivals.

Travellers checking baggage are encouraged to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled departure and follow the direction of airline, screening and airport personnel.

Travellers with carry-on baggage only may proceed through Pre-Board Screening as usual.

The temporary screening process may result in additional processing time.

A heartfelt thank you from YXS. ❤️

Yesterday, we had the privilege of seeing this group of firefighters from Quebec depart Prince George Airport after supporting wildfire response efforts in British Columbia.

During a challenging wildfire season, firefighters and other personnel have travelled from across Canada and around the world to lend a hand here in B.C.

To this incredible group, and to all the firefighters supporting communities across the province, thank you for answering the call.
