We reviewed our necessary qualifications and requirements and have expanded the Driver's Qualification to include a Class G, which is all that is required to drive one of our Dodge Ram Vans. We are hoping this will make it easier for anyone out there who would like to join our family. As Labour Day is Monday September 7th we will be closed so our amazing drivers can enjoy a much needed long weekend with family and friends.
We remind all to be responsible while on our roadways and waterways this weekend.
We will all be back Tuesday morning to provide you with caring and professional door to door service

This past week our office received a call from an individual, not a regular client, who found themselves stranded on a sidewalk in the east end of Pembroke with no way to get home. The electric wheelchair they were operating had broken down.
2 of our drivers and myself went to the area.
As we would be blocking one lane of traffic we had one driver park further back with our emergency 4 ways on directing traffic.
The individual's wheelchair was quite cumbersome with no power and was going to be difficult to maneuver. It was at this point that 2 young gentlemen noticed and came forward to assist us. We did not get their names but on behalf of us all we wish to thank them for their act of kindness.
We truly do live in a wonderful community.
We are happy to report that the individual was taken to their residence and it is our understanding that the electric wheelchair is once again operating as it should.

The The Pembroke and Laurentian Valley Handi-Bus took delivery of our newest vehicle in our fleet recently and we wanted to take the opportunity to thank the following for your support that made this purchase possible . Thank you to the Province Ontario and MPP Billy Denault , The City of Pembroke , The Township of Laurentian Valley , The Pembroke Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 488 , A special thanks to Mayor Ron Gervais, Wendy Hewitt - Laurentian Valley Councillor .
And a special thank you too all the wonderful folks that use our service each and everyday.

A huge thank you to the men and women of the Pembroke Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 488 for your very generous donation to the Handi-Bus. The donation in the amount of $2,200.00 is from the Pancake Breakfast fundraiser held earlier in the spring. Well done!

Congratulations to Mr. Lewis on winning our draw from the Pembroke EXPO. Here's a photo of Mr. Lewis and his wife proudly displaying the battery powered little chainsaw. They were quite pleased by the luck of the win as Roy had just trashed a couple of electric ones and needed to trim his hedges. We'll be looking forward to your artwork Roy!!!!!
