Campfires are being banned across B.C.’s South Coast, including Vancouver, starting Thursday at noon as dry, warm conditions continue to raise wildfire risk.

Officials warn that weeks of unusually hot weather and record-breaking temperatures have pushed the region into high to extreme fire danger.

Even small campfires will be prohibited, with strict penalties for violations as authorities try to prevent fast-spreading wildfires during peak dry conditions.

Residents are urged to follow all restrictions, avoid open burning, and stay updated as more details are expected soon.

Stay safe. Stay alert.

Weekends and stat holidays no closures but still single lane alternating let through at the top of the hour. Follow this link for updates:

A major upgrade to Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill continues to progress. The project is approximately 14 kilometers northeast of the Tofino-Ucluelet Highway 4 junction. …

**We are taking the Novel Coronavirus very seriously, and are sanitizing every surface, door handle, light switch, remote control, key, faucets etc etc in between guests. The guesthouse is it's own living space fully separated from our home, and the forced air heat or cooling runs through an electronic filter - so the risk of contamination will be at a minimum at all times.
At the same time, we ask guests with symptoms who suspect they might be infected to re-book or cancel.**
