Here are some photos of a small part of one of our trips to SE Asia. We were in Mandalay, Myanmar (called Burma by the British) heading to Bagan by boat on the Irrawaddy River, a distance of about 115 miles. A nice slow way to travel.

Here is another memorable experience we had while travelling through some of Eastern Europe in 2015, the year of the European refugee crisis. More than 1,000,000 people migrated from war torn countries like Syria and Afghanistan. They were mostly on foot, trying to reach Europe for a better and safer life. One of the main migrant routes went from the Middle East to Greece and then up through the Balkans and then across Hungary and Austria and into Germany. Germany had promised to take a million refugees to revitalize their aging workforce, which they did. We witnessed a small part of this story.

Anyone who travels knows that things don't always go as planned. Our trip into the Amazon Basin in 2008 was one of those times.

Thanks to everyone for your reactions and comments to our last post, we really appreciate the feedback. For us, we love doing it because we get to re-live some fabulous memories.

One of our travels back in 2011/2012 over Christmas and New Years took us to India, a country that has 5,000 years of history but became known mostly for spices and the British colonial rule. A very different place, to say the least. The expression to describe something as “an assault to the senses”, totally applies here. We covered a lot of ground by plane, train, and car in a few weeks.

We have hundreds of pictures of this trip but here’s a few we picked out. We know 62 pics is a lot. Sorry…could have been worse.😀

Hello to all our friends. After missing a year due to "getting old" issues, we are planning our next trip. We’ll be heading to Chile in Dec. and then crossing the Andes by bus to Mendoza, and continue on to Buenos Aries and Uruguay for a look around and then to Ecuador to see old friends. We can’t wait to get going!

We started The Travelonians in 2019 before our first trip to SE Asia but we had done some travelling before that, so we thought it might be nice to post a few of our favourite pics from these trips. We have thousands of pictures to choose from so we’ll post a few every week or so.

Well here it is the big 70!!!!! My friends organized a nice soirée to celebrate the occasion. Great company, decorated dance floor, a Photo Booth, international food, good music……. What else can a girl ask for on her 70th birthday.😜
