Last day on open water and now in the Caribbean. Making the best of long, warm, days as we approach Sint Maarten and St Kitts. Arrive in San Juan on Friday, then turn around for a 10 day / 7 island circle tour returning to San Juan on Dec 29.

Time for an update? Here we are on day two of eight at sea days, crossing the Atlantic from from Morocco to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Travel to this point has been rather hectic, with cancellations due to crew issues and, ultimately, a great flight from Newark, New Jersey to Zurich, Switzerland, with the amazing Swiss Air. 

Our Viking cruise journey started in Barcelona, then continued to Valencia and Seville, before our stop in Casablanca was cancelled due to high seas and inability of our ship to dock. This added an additional day, to what had been anticipated as between the European coast and the Caribbean.

Next stop will be the Dutch Sainte Maarten, and then Saint Kitts before a turnaround in San Juan.

These are two back-to-back cruises, with the second beginning and ending in San Juan after stopping at I believe seven islands

We have been looking forward to the at sea days, however, the swells have been rather high so it’s difficult to do much walking around the decks or other typical activities. Just the perfect excuse to do absolute nothing but hit the spa, read, and nap!!

Departing today for Barcelona and the beginning of the Iberia to West Indies Viking cruise. Doing two cruises, back to back, so we’ll be home December 30. Many thanks to those who will take care of home and business while we’re gone.

One hour until departure from Montreal on-route to Reykjavik, Iceland and our Viking Cruises circumnavigation of Iceland and the Faroe Islands, before ports in Norway. Suddenly, it seems real!
