Title: Courier Delivery Driver (Fleet Flex)
Reports To: Dispatcher
Territory: Ottawa
Status: Agency Employee
Hours of Work: 10 hours working day

PURPOSE:The Courier Driver is responsible for efficiently and timely delivering small packages throughout the Ottawa region. The Courier Driver is flexible with working hours and physically capable of carrying out 200 deliveries per day. Ensuring and exhibiting safe driving practices at all times, this position is comfortable with navigating a smartphone handhold. Other tasks include completing pre-and post-trip inspections and documenting daily mileage and gas usage.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Complete deliveries within specified and required time frames

· Load and unload parcels into the vehicle

· Assist other drivers as needed and requested

· Complete daily pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections

· Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Excellent customer service and attention to detail

· Time management and organizational skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Must possess a valid G-class driver's license

· Up to date Criminal Record Check

· Clean driving record

· Previous driving experience with deliveries is an asset

WORKPLACE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Able to adapt to a dynamic work environment

· Able to effectively navigate in highly congested traffic areas

· Competent in using a smartphone device

· Flexible with scheduling; weekend work will be required

Requirements:

- Strong customer service skills and a positive, can-do attitude.

- Completion of post-secondary education in Accounting or Bookkeeping

- Working knowledge of TaxPrep, Quickbooks, Sage (Formerly Simply Accounting), Word and Excel, and be highly computer literate.

- Working knowledge of financial statements and accounting matters.

Responsibilities:

· Ex*****on of full cycle bookkeeping for clients.

· Preparation of Payroll tax remittances and GST/HST returns.

· Correspond with Canada Revenue Agency, WSIB and other regulatory bodies.

· Ensure all financial reporting and government filing deadlines are met.

· Production, review, and comment of period end financial statements.

· Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and discuss with managers to resolve.

· Preparation of year-end packages for accountants, i.e. preparing A/R, A/P reports, trial balance, adjusting entries, reconciling accounts.

· Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping initiatives.

· Maintain up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records.

· Be alert, quick and responsive with attention to detail.

· Perform with a high degree of accuracy.

· Be willing and able to work flexible hours (when required).

· Develop and maintain relationships with clients.

· Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

Requirements : Fluent in English speak, read and write as well as comprehend detailed instructions.
​​Knowledge of the Ottawa/Gatineau area.
​​Be able to lift up to 50lbs, most of our product is lighter..
​​Punctual – be able to be on time for work, start time is 7am. ​
​​Load your own van with help.
​​French would definitely be an asset.

This is a contract position. One day of training will be provided. You will need to provide a driver’s abstract.
