Important reminder: Check Your Child’s Transportation Info Before the First Day of School

OSTA staff continue to update bus and van routes as we process new registrations, address changes and other student data. Parents, including parents of students on vans, if you haven't already done so, register for the OSTA Parent Portal Please check it regularly and prior to the first day of school for possible changes to your child's transportation information.

The OSTA Parent Portal is now open for the 2026-2027 school year!
Read our latest Back-to-School message for important updates on student transportation,
including bus routes, our new Kindergarten Alternate Release Authorization Form, the empty seat program and how to stay updated using the OSTA app.

Please note the Parent Portal, which will contain busing information for the 2026-2027 school year, will open in the afternoon of Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

You do not need to register for a school bus. Eligible students who are registered with their school are automatically assigned a bus.

Check Eligibility: Visit our website and use the “Do I Qualify?” tool. Be sure to select your child’s grade for the 2026-2027 school year.
Get Route Details: Bus stop times and locations will be available on the Parent Portal as of the afternoon on Tuesday, August 18.

Parent Portal Setup: If you don’t have an account, you can create one on our website. Ensure the email address you use matches the one your child’s school has on file.

Sign up for First Rider today! 🏫🚍

All children entering the school system and/or taking the bus for the first time, or new residents to the City should plan to attend. The day’s activities are suitable for all elementary school-age children and everyone is welcome.

The event takes place on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at multiple school locations across Ottawa.
