Chobe delivered elephants…🐘🤗

Yup! Lots of them.

You know you’ve arrived in Botswana when elephants seem to be everywhere.

Along the riverbanks. Crossing through the bush. Appearing around the next bend when you least expect them.

Jenna Price M. • Wildlife Photographer and the group’s Botswana & Victoria Falls journey is officially underway—and what a start it has been.

The adventure began with The Boma, followed by the sheer power of Victoria Falls and the adrenaline of Devil’s Pool—three completely different experiences, and all a hit with the group.

But crossing into Botswana and arriving in Chobe is where the wildlife journey really began.

Watching entire herds gather along the Chobe River, interact with one another, and simply go about their lives reminds you just how extraordinary Botswana really is.

And there’s something different about seeing elephants here.

From a private boat, approaching quietly and almost at eye level from the water, you get an entirely different perspective—watching herds drink, interact, and move along the riverbanks from such a low angle.

And it’s not just one or two. You’re surrounded by a landscape where elephants truly belong and still roam in remarkable numbers.

If kicking things off with the rainbows and sheer power of Victoria Falls brought the adventure, and Chobe brought the elephants, we can’t wait to see what Botswana has waiting for Jenna and the group next.

Something tells us some of the best wildlife encounters—and photographs—haven’t even happened yet. The waterways and wilderness of the Okavango Delta are still ahead, followed by the vast landscapes of Makgadikgadi.

One morning you’re standing beside penguins, and a few hours later, you’re on top of Table Mountain. 🇿🇦

Choosing what makes Cape Town so intriguing is a difficult task. With so much to experience, see, and do, what would you explore first?

Standing beneath the unmistakable silhouette of Table Mountain?

Or wandering through the colourful streets of Bo-Kaap, where every corner seems to have chosen a different colour? 🌈

Maybe it’s watching African penguins waddle along the shores of Boulders Beach. 🐧

Driving one of the world’s most spectacular coastal roads with the Atlantic Ocean stretching endlessly beside you. 🌊

Or slowing everything down with a glass of South African w**e, surrounded by mountains and rolling vineyards. 🍷

For the Hardin family, their short South African extension gave them a taste of all these highlights before joining Jenna and the group in Victoria Falls and Botswana, followed by an extension to Makgadikgadi.

But hey, that’s a whole other adventure worthy of its own post… let’s stick with South Africa for now! 😉

What makes Cape Town so special isn’t one particular attraction.

It’s the fact that culture, mountains, ocean, wildlife, food, w**e, history, and adventure all seem to collide in one extraordinary place.

You can spend the morning exploring colourful neighbourhoods, find yourself surrounded by penguins along the coast in the afternoon, and by sunset, be raising a glass in the Cape Winelands wondering how all of this happened in a single day.

At Gombe, you don’t drive—you glide across Lake Tanganyika by boat, walk beneath the forest canopy, and connect with nature in a completely different way.

Tucked along the shores of Lake Tanganyika, Gombe Stream National Park is one of Tanzania’s smallest parks—and, in our view, home to one of the continent’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences. Reached by boat from Kigoma, Gombe invites guests to explore on foot with trained guides rather than from a safari vehicle.

It’s the dust, the noise, the sheer scale of it all!

The drama, chaos, and instinct all at once, and no two crossings are ever the same.

August is prime time for this, and we couldn’t be more excited for our next wave of guests to witness it firsthand. Some things you just have to see with your own eyes, and being on the edge of the river bank waiting to catch a crossing or two will give you a thrill like no other!

It’s me or you… maybe there are one or two too many! 😄

Until you stand among thousands of Cape fur seals, it’s impossible to imagine just how alive the Skeleton Coast really is.

And let’s not even talk about their side-eye game… but I can tell you this: the air is filled with their calls. The beach never stops moving. Everywhere you look, another story is unfolding.

Breeding bulls battle for territory, mothers nurse their pups along the shore, and thousands upon thousands of seals transform Namibia’s rugged coastline into one of the wildest spectacles on Earth.

It’s one of those places where the wilderness doesn’t simply surround you…

It completely takes over.

It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve done it — every trek is different, making each encounter uniquely your own.

The way mothers care for their young. The way siblings play. The way the silverback quietly watches over the family.

You quickly realize you’re not simply observing wildlife — you’re witnessing a family going about its daily life in the heart of Africa’s rainforest.

And that’s when something shifts.

For a brief moment, the distance between human and gorilla feels remarkably small.

Surrounded by mist-covered mountains, ancient forests, and the sounds of the jungle, you find yourself looking into the eyes of a wild mountain gorilla and recognizing something familiar.

It’s humbling.

How do you measure a journey through Tanzania?

By the miles traveled?

The parks visited? The animals seen?

Or by the moments that unexpectedly stay with you long after you return home?

Over the past ten days, the Wojton family explored some of northern Tanzania’s most iconic landscapes — from Arusha National Park and Lake Manyara to Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the vast wilderness of the Serengeti.

There were plenty of memorable sightings along the way.

But what stood out most was something harder to describe.

The feeling of waking up to a new landscape each morning.

The excitement of never knowing what the day might bring.

The laughter shared in the vehicle with Richard, our naturalist guide and encyclopedia of all things wildlife, culture, and wilderness.

The evenings spent around a campfire beneath the African sky.

And the people who transformed a great trip into something deeply personal.

One message from Elisabeth captured it beautifully:

“We felt like royalty the entire time. It felt more like someone’s home they welcomed you into instead of just a lodge where you are a number.”

That is exactly what we hope every guest takes home with them.

Not just photographs of wildlife, but a genuine connection to Tanzania, its people, its wildlife, and its wilderness.

To Andrew, Elisabeth, and the entire Wojton family, thank you for allowing us to be part of your adventure. Your kind words, beautiful photographs, and genuine appreciation for Tanzania’s wilderness have meant the world to us.

Playtime is over only when a silverback says so…

At least that’s what it looked like… 🙄

One of the most fascinating things about spending time with mountain gorillas is how often their family dynamics feel so familiar.

The youngsters never seem ready for playtime to end, while the adults gently keep order within the group.

Watching these siblings interact was a beautiful reminder that family bonds, curiosity, and affection aren’t uniquely human.

Sometimes, deep in the jungles of Uganda, you realize we may not be all that different after all.
