Ever looked at your farm or ranch and thought how much easier it would be to see it all from above?

For farmers and ranchers across Southern Alberta, a helicopter can offer a completely different perspective of the land you work every day.

A Private Helicopter Licence gives you the opportunity to learn the incredible skill of flying a helicopter and experience the freedom of accessing the world from a whole new perspective.

You don’t have to be planning an aviation career to learn how to fly. Sometimes, the journey itself—and the possibilities that come with it—is reason enough to take the controls.

One of the biggest lessons we teach our students isn’t how to control a helicopter—it’s how to make safe decisions.

Clouds can be incredibly deceiving. What looks like a harmless gap can close quickly, visibility can deteriorate in seconds, and it’s easy to lose your visual references. Flying above a cloud layer may seem tempting, but if the weather changes and you can’t safely descend, you’ve created a situation that could quickly become dangerous.

In this video, we’re maintaining a safe distance from a low cloud layer while using it as a real-world training opportunity. Every flight gives us a chance to discuss weather, visibility, escape routes, and knowing when to turn around.

There comes a day when the instructor steps out… and it’s just you, the helicopter and everything you’ve learned.

Every pilot remembers their first solo.

Today, Colton reached that unforgettable milestone, taking off and landing completely on his own for the very first time.

Watching students grow from their first lesson to becoming confident pilots is one of the greatest rewards of flight instruction. Congratulations on this incredible achievement—we’re proud of everything you’ve accomplished so far and excited to see where aviation takes you next.

Blue skies and safe flying! 🚁
