Today I ate at Cactus Club, the new one on the beach at Denman. It was fantastic. The building is beautiful and the greenest commercial building in North America, the staff is attentive and really happy, the food is great - much of it Rob Feenie inspired - and the views are the best in the city.
And the prices are great for what you get. I had the Szechuan Salmon Rice Bowl for $16 and my dining companion had the short rib sandwich for $16 as well. Both were yummy.
I didn't have one but someone at the table next to ours was drinking a 'spiked frapp,' frozen cappuccino martini with vodka, kahlua, creme de cacao and whipped cream. Can't wait to go back.
The only other thing I'd mention is that the place gets crowded in the evenings, really crowded - 2 hour wait crowded. We went at lunch time - actually at 11:30 - it opens at 11:00 - and got a window table, so I'd suggest lunch is the time to check it out.
