Recycling collection every other Thursday
You must sort your recycling as stated in this post.

NEW: FOR GROCERIES GARBAGE AND RECYCLING WE WILL BE ADDING A 5$ CHARGE TO E-TRANSFER PAYMENTS.

MILK CONTAINERS PURCHASED AFTER FEB. 1ST WILL HAVE A DEPOSIT AND CAN BE RETURNED FOR REFUND OR GIVEN TO THE LIONS CLUB ON PROTECTION.
THIS RUN PLEASE PLACE ALL MILK CONTAINERS IN THE REGULAR RECYCLING CATEGORY

Recycling is picked up curbside every other Thursday at 10am or after. We ask for 5$ a bag and your recycling to be sorted. A bag is about the same volume as a 120L garbage can.
Don’t want to waste more plastic? Use a bin for your recycling and leave that out for me.
If you have a larger pile of recycling we can still accommodate it with the recycling run in most cases, please inform me of your larger load via email [email protected].
For larger loads we can send an invoice or inform you approximately how much to have ready for us during collection.

Prices: small TV $10 big TV 20$, computer 10$ ; $25 per hot water heater; $30 smaller appliance, 40$ for larger appliance.

How to sort your recycling for collection.

Sorting your recycling greatly improves my ability to properly deal with your recycling.
Please place the items in each category together and separated from the others

Tin cans, tetra packs (soup boxes), plastic packaging, wax lined paper cups.
Paper and cardboard. No books
White foam
Colored foam
Glass packaging. No cups, plates, mirrors, etc.
Soft plastics. Materials like shopping bags, they stretch. NO OVER WRAP OR BUBBLE WRAP.
Crinkle plastics. Materials like grape bags, plastic wrapping, ziplocks.
Batteries. Big or small.
Lightbulbs and light fixtures
Small and big appliances also power tools
Heavy metal. Materials like hot water tanks, hunks of metal, wire, chain.
Paints. - MUST BE IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER AND HAVE A READABLE LABEL AND NOT BE COMMERCIAL GRADE.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I cant believe I am down to my last 2 days here at Island Supply.
For those of you who took some time out of your busy lives to send a farwell, I greatly appreciate it.
To everyone I have had the pleasure to meet over my days, thank you for your time, it was a joy to meet you.
I am forever grateful to receive so much support and kindness from all of you, I wish you all well and look forward to our next encounter, hopefully in the next couple of days here! If not I will see you around!

It's groceries and garbage day on Wednesday!

Groceries, garbage and recycling are meant to be done in cash. E-Transfers will be billed with a 5$ service charge.

WE are back to 15 online order slots. Thanks for your understanding on this matter everyone.

Plan to shop in person at Thrifty foods to pick out your groceries OR place your order online and it will be shopped for you. Make sure you inform them that it's for Protection Island and for online orders please select 10am 12pm time slot for online orders.
We have 15 slots for online orders and only during the 10-12 time slot. **Please specify substitutions if desired items are not in stock.**
Shopping and online orders must be done the day before!

We will also do pick ups from London drugs and the Liquor store, please email about pickups from both locations to make sure your order is picked up.

For GARBAGE. 5$ a regular sized bag, please be considerate if using oversized bags.
HAVE YOUR GARBAGE OUT BY 12PM
PLEASE LABEL HAZARD LIKE BROKEN GLASS
Garbage is meant to be light household garbage. Please email me about any questions regarding what you have if you are not sure it can go with Wednesday garbage.
If you have more than 5 bags please email us with a heads up

RACCOONS. It saddens me to say this but they are becoming an issue at quite a few spots. If you can, please use a bin for garbage to help stop this, we do not carry extra garbage bags and should not have to clean up the mess.

Thanks everyone for all the positive and supportive feed back for me choosing a new path, it sure filled my heart and brought some tears.

Jay and I are on our way to the island now with groceries. We should be starting deliveries in about 20 minutes.
If your garbage is not out yet, make sure to get it out. See you soon!

Good day.
I am taking the time today to reach out and inform you that I, Jase, have decided to move on to a new path in my life in regards to work and have given my notice here at Protection Island Supply. My last day will be the 31st of March
This was no easy decision for me and there were months of consideration put in towards it.
I wish to share with you that it has been an absolute delight, honour and privilege to have had the time and opportunity to be involved in your lives along with being a part of such a wonderful and unique community. The time I have had with you, the kindness and generosity you have shared with me will be forever valued and appreciated. I have been given an invaluable gift that will be treasured and I will do my best to share what I have learned from these acts as I continue to grow.
