💙 The blues of Chefchaouen.

Every corner seems to have its own shade — cobalt, turquoise, powder blue, faded blue, freshly painted blue.

Doors, walls, steps, windows… when you get up close, you start noticing just how many different blues make up Morocco’s famous Blue City.

Definitely a place made for wandering with a camera. 📷💙

🧳 MOROCCO 101 | The Tanneries of Fes

It’s one of the most photographed views in Fes — but look a little closer and you’ll see that the real story is in the people working down in those vats.

Leather tanning has been part of life in Fes for centuries. The famous Chouara Tannery, dating back to the medieval period, is the largest and best-known of the city’s historic tanneries, where many of the traditional processes are still carried out by hand.

Hides are cleaned, softened, treated and eventually dyed in the stone vats using techniques passed down through generations. Natural materials have traditionally played a big role in the process, including lime, salt and even pigeon droppings during the preparation of the hides, with plant-based dyes and ingredients such as indigo, poppy and henna historically used to create colour.

And then there are the men working among the vats.

Standing ankle or knee-deep, moving hides from one vat to another, working under the Moroccan sun — it gives you a completely different appreciation for that beautiful leather bag, pouf or pair of babouches you see hanging in the shops of the medina.

The tanneries aren’t simply something to photograph from a terrace above. They are a living piece of Fes history — a centuries-old craft that continues right in the middle of a modern city.

This is one of the reasons I always encourage people to slow down when they travel through Morocco. Look beyond the famous view. Watch the hands doing the work. Learn the story behind what you’re seeing.

One of the things I love most about travel is learning about the everyday traditions that shape people’s lives. 🇲🇦

While exploring with my guests and our local guide, we had the opportunity to learn a little more about prayer in Islam — including the movements Muslims make during salah and the meaning behind them.

It was fascinating to watch him demonstrate and explain something that is such an important part of daily life for millions of Muslims around the world.

These are the moments I want my guests to experience in Morocco.

Not simply seeing the mosques, hearing the call to prayer or walking through the medina — but having someone local take the time to explain why things are done, what they mean, and the role they play in Moroccan life.

Travel becomes so much richer when we’re curious enough to learn about one another. ❤️🇲🇦

And this is exactly why I believe a great local guide can completely change the way you experience Morocco.

My heart has learned to live in more than one place. 🤍

🇬🇷 Lesvos — the Greek island that gives me sea, slower days, familiar faces and a place that feels like home.

🇲🇦 Morocco — the place that captured me years ago and somehow keeps pulling me back. The colours, the chaos, the food, the conversations, the people… and the feeling that there is always another layer to discover.

And somewhere along the way, travel became much more than simply seeing the world for me.

Since 2010, I’ve been creating and hosting travel experiences for people who want to experience a destination beyond the checklist.

Morocco has become a huge part of that story. I love introducing my guests to the people I know, sharing meals around tables they might never find on their own, wandering medinas with local friends, and watching someone fall in love with this country in their own way.

And then there’s 🇹🇷 Türkiye — another country I adore sharing. Its history, landscapes, food, hospitality and incredible mix of cultures make it one of those places I could return to again and again.

I suppose that’s what I want this little corner of Instagram to be about too.

❣️Little things I love about Casablanca

Casablanca in colour. ❤️💙💛

Casa is one of those cities that rewards you for exploring it on foot.

Bold red arches and palms in Arab League Park, with the former Sacred Heart Church rising behind them… then colourful street art tucked into the streets of the old medina.

Two completely different scenes. Both completely Casablanca.

This city is full of contrasts — Art Deco architecture, old medina streets, contemporary street art, grand boulevards, neighbourhood cafés, historic buildings and little details you’d easily walk straight past if you didn’t know where to look.

It’s one of the reasons I love exploring with a local guide. You don’t just see Casablanca — you begin to understand the layers of the city.

📮 POSTCARDS FROM ISTANBUL 🇹🇷

A city where Europe and Asia meet, where ferries criss-cross the Bosphorus all day long, and where there always seems to be a glass of çay within reach.

Istanbul is grand mosques and tiny neighbourhood cafés. Fishermen along the Galata Bridge. The call to prayer drifting across rooftops. Cats curled up in shop windows. Simit carts on busy corners. Laundry hanging above cobbled streets. Ferries packed with commuters, tourists and seagulls following hopefully behind.

It’s chaotic and beautiful, ancient and modern, enormous and somehow still full of little neighbourhood moments.

I’ve returned to Istanbul many times, camera always in hand, and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of photographing it. Every neighbourhood feels like another layer waiting to be discovered.

So here are a few postcards from Istanbul — little moments and scenes from a city that deserves far more than a quick stopover. 💌
