Multitude Manifesto - revised

Dear humans.

We write to you across every border and continent. We write to those who are already building, coding, teaching, tending, and coordinating directly with one another without asking permission from an authority, often without even knowing what name to give their work. And we write directly to those who still sit at the command consoles of older institutions, watching the instruments fail. Our civilization is undergoing a profound phase transition. This letter is a statement of why the old architecture of power is faltering, why the material nature of new technologies offers humanity an unprecedented opening for emancipation, what kind of society is already struggling to be born, and how we can achieve this transformation together through a peaceful metamorphosis.

This letter is not an operating manual for a technical protocol, nor is it the private project of any single organization. It is an invitation to recognize a shared historical moment, to align our efforts, and to step deliberately across the threshold of a new era.

- This can help entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and government employees to understand the impact of p2p on our institutions, to better navigate the current socioeconomic turbulence.
- This would be in person, at the Sensorica lab in Montreal.

Great piece by Sacha Pignot reflecting the design practice that we nurture at the Sensorica lab. The key concept that we are toying with is Complexity Oriented Programming or Complexity Drive Development.
Our Nondominium project, built on , to enable the peer sharing economy and peer production, is the playground where this concept matures.
The author illustrates this new Development / Programming paradigm in two different domains, music and peer production, stemming from his two apparently disjoint passions, revealing their deeper overlapping.
"Fractal composability is not just an elegant software property. It is the structural shape that makes peer-to-peer coordination computable at scale."
I'd add to that that generative grammars are key to represent and embrace complexity, as p2p is a branch of complexity economics, becoming increasingly relevant in today's highly interconnected world.
