Labour Day!

Good night all,
For the Labour Day March.
September 7, 2026

All is welcome, this is a FREE entry to the CNE for you and whoever you come with …but … you have to do the entire March. You can bring with you your friends, neighbors, family.

There will be 2 options.
1 ) you would have to meet us ( all IAM members ) at the corner of Queen Street west and University Ave, on the Street,,, this area is blocked off for all the real unions in Ontario. Around 9am to 9:30 we will start to March in order of Unions. We will walk down Queen street and make a left on Dufferin street. When we arrive on the CNE grounds we will take a group picture and then you are dismissed to go into the CNE for FREE. After ..you would have to make your own arrangements to go home.

2) Take the big School bus from the local lodge. The bus will leave at 8am sharp and will drop you off at Queen street and University Ave and will pick you up at 3:30pm at Medieval Times to bring you back to the local lodge …still working this out with District 78. For option 2 we will have to ask members to register for the bus because of limited space.

Why should you participate in the March?
- Well the main reason, the Labour movement is there for the working people, if it was not for the Labour movement we would not have 8 hours days, or standard lunch’s, overtime pay, etc,
- ⁠great event to get some exercise
- ⁠show union pride
- ⁠free union T-shirt
- ⁠free entry to CNE

IAM General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes has appointed Stan Theofilaktidis as an International Auditor, effective August 1, 2026.

With more than two decades of dedicated service to IAM members, Stan brings extensive experience in union leadership, financial administration, and member advocacy to this important role.

He will help ensure strong financial stewardship and accountability for IAM locals and districts across Eastern Canada and Vermont.

La Secrétaire-trésorière générale de l’IAM, Dora Cervantes, a nommé Stan Theofilaktidis au poste de vérificateur international, à compter du 1er août 2026.

Avec plus de deux décennies de service dévoué auprès des membres de l’IAM, Stan apporte à ce nouveau rôle une vaste expérience en leadership syndical, en administration financière et en défense des intérêts des membres.

Il contribuera à assurer une saine gestion financière et une reddition de comptes rigoureuse au sein des sections locales et des districts de l’IAM dans l’Est du Canada et au Vermont.
