WOULD WE MATCH YOU WITH THIS RESORT?
Today we’re looking at the
Bahia Principe Akumal
in the Riviera Maya.
And we’re going to do things a little differently.
We could tell you it’s 7 nights, all-inclusive, direct from Moncton and starts at $2,109 per person.
And it does.
But that doesn’t tell you whether you should actually spend $2,109 on it.
THE MATCH
I’d put this one on the list for couples or families who like a larger resort with plenty going on.
It’s also worth considering if you’re the type of traveller who likes having choices. Different pools, places to explore, entertainment, activities — rather than spending seven days within a few hundred feet of the same pool chair.
And then there’s the room situation…
Junior Suite — $2,109 pp
Junior Suite Deluxe — $2,229 pp
Junior Suite Deluxe Oceanfront — $2,389 pp
Junior Suite Premium Swim-Up — $2,509 pp
That means going from the entry-level room all the way to a Premium Swim-Up is a difference of $400 per person.
For some travellers? Absolutely worth it.
For others? I’d tell you to keep the $800 per couple and spend it somewhere else.
THE “BUT…”
This wouldn’t be my first recommendation for someone looking for a small, intimate boutique resort.
If your perfect vacation is quiet, compact and understated, I’d probably show you something else.
And that’s the point.
A good price and a good vacation aren’t necessarily the same thing.
