Small actions can make a big difference! 👊

Yesterday, our team packed After the Bell food packs to support kids and families during the summer. We’re proud to volunteer with Food Banks Canada and help ensure children have access to nutritious food when school programs pause.

Getting on shelf is one thing. Getting noticed is another.

Retail-ready displays play a critical role in how products show up in-store, influencing visibility, compliance, and ultimately sell-through.

TLS supports CPG brands with retail-ready display solutions that ensure products are built, assembled, and delivered to meet retailer expectations and program timelines.

Strong ideas, sharp perspectives, and candid conversations defined the FHCP Sales & Marketing Symposium.

The TLS team spent the day exchanging views with peers across Canada’s CPG and grocery space, with standout dialogue and sessions featuring Greg Wells, Ph.D., Sean Martin, Andrea Jacks, PCC, Doug Stephens, Errol Cerit, P.Eng., Danni Peirce, and Carman Allison. The breadth of thinking and openness of discussion made for a highly engaging program.

Well done to Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada FHCP for curating a thoughtful and forward‑looking forum!

Most CPG expansions don’t fail at sales. They fail at operations.

Distribution is the milestone, the operating system is the work.

A simple scale checklist:

âś… EDI + order management ready
âś… Inventory flow + fulfillment discipline
âś… Clean order-to-cash + visibility
âś… Fewer handoffs (less fragmentation)

When the backbone is integrated, decisions get faster, retailer relationships get easier, and ex*****on improves.

What’s the first ops gap that shows up when a brand starts scaling?

North America is not a market you “figure out” as you go.

It's a structured system where ex*****on is measured quickly and misalignment compounds just as fast.

Even well-capitalized brands struggle when entering without a clear understanding of how these forces interact.

That’s why experience and counsel matter.

At Thomas, Large & Singer, we take a consultative approach to market entry and expansion, helping brands align financial modelling, retail strategy, and operational ex*****on before scale.

Many brands treat Canada as a smaller version of the U.S. It isn’t.

Despite their proximity, Canada operates with distinct regulatory frameworks, retail dynamics, and cost structures that directly impact how brands scale.

When these differences are overlooked, the result is often delays, margin pressure, and operational inefficiencies.

Thomas, Large & Singer helps brands navigate both markets with strategies tailored to each, supporting more effective and sustainable expansion.

Great to see members of the TLS and Emblem Logistics teams attending the FHCP Supply Chain Symposium alongside peers from across Canada’s CPG and grocery ecosystem.

The day delivered timely insights on the forces shaping today’s supply chain, from economic outlooks and changing consumer behaviour to the evolving Grocery Code of Conduct. Highlights included perspectives from Douglas Porter (BMO) on macroeconomic trends and updates from Karen Proud (Grocery Code Office of Canada), alongside industry voices addressing AI, transportation, and operational resilience.

Events like this reinforce the value of collaboration and informed dialogue as our industry continues to adapt and move forward. Thank you to Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada FHCP for convening such a strong and relevant program.
