When Saira moved from Edmonton to Niagara Falls, our office crew Adam and Warren handled the logistics and timing. On delivery day, Jose and Andrew protected her floors and reassembled her furniture piece by piece. Delivery day is not the day to unpack everything.

We see it every week. The truck pulls away, the boxes are inside, and people start ripping open everything within reach. By 9 PM they're exhausted, surrounded by half-unpacked boxes, and can't find a clean towel.

There's a better way. Tackle delivery day in this order:

1. Assemble the bed and make it. Future-you at midnight will thank you.
2. Set up bathroom essentials. Toilet paper, soap, towels, toothbrush.
3. Unpack only the kitchen items you'll use in the next 48 hours. Coffee maker, two plates, two mugs, one pan.
4. Assemble the main living room furniture so you have a place to sit.
5. Stop. Everything else — decor, books, art, the third set of dishes — waits for the weekend.

Five things done well beats fifty things half-done.

Measure twice, ship once.
