This week has brought some very unexpected and difficult news for us at Out’N’About Taxis. On Monday afternoon, our CEO/primary driver/fellow co‑owner - who oversaw the day‑to‑day operations and also personally owned the licensed vehicle we operated under - gave notice of his immediate departure. Because taxi licenses in Lunenburg are tied to specific vehicles, we’re no longer able to operate.
To say this outcome has been a shock would be an understatement. Like many of you, we believed deeply in what Out’N’About could bring to our community: a reliable, friendly, locally run taxi service that helped people get where they needed to go. Each of us contributed in our own ways to make that vision possible, but with these sudden changes, and a surgery later this month for one of us, it simply isn’t possible for us to continue operating at this time.
We’re reaching out directly to everyone with bookings to ensure clear communication, and we’re doing our best to handle this transition with care and respect.
This venture started out of love for Lunenburg and the people who call it home, and we’ll always be proud of what we built together, however briefly. Thank you, truly, for supporting us, and cheering us on as we launched, and thank you even more for the understanding that has been extended to us during this time. Your kindness means more than words can say.
