London International Airport (CYXU) now ranks as the 12th busiest passenger airport in Canada and the 11th busiest airport as measured by aircraft take-offs and landings. Air Canada has proudly served London for over 50 years and continues to be the largest airline at YXU with daily non-stop service to both Toronto and Ottawa. Westjet started flying from London in 2002 with 3 weekly flights to Win
nipeg. They have grown significantly with daily non-stops to Toronto and Calgary, seasonal service to Vancouver and Winnipeg. Our charter services continue to grow with our partners Celebrity Cruises, Sunwing, Transat Vacations and Westjet Vacations which provide seasonal sun service to Florida, Cuba, The Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mexico. The sun destination services continue to grow with yearly. The Airport is home to over 50 businesses and generates an economic impact to the area in excess of $357 million. In terms of employment the Airport and associated businesses employ over 1700 individuals and ranks in the top 10 employers in the London area. From aircraft manufacturing at Diamond Aircraft to fixed-wing domestic or international flight training to jet and piston aircraft maintenance, the London International Airport is a hub for general aviation services in Southwestern Ontario.
