🐾 Well, here we go again... 💔
Yesterday, our founder Nikki was volunteering at an event for another rescue group and was asked to pick up four puppies that were scheduled to attend.
When she arrived with another volunteer, the heartbreaking reality was revealed: of the four puppies, only one was still alive.
As Nikki examined the surviving puppy, she immediately noticed a severe injury to her leg. She contacted Antonio, who quickly picked her up and brought her home so she could receive veterinary care. Because it was Sunday, we had to wait until today for an examination.
Today, Dr. Hector Ramirez of Veterinaria Equi-Kan immediately took her for X-rays. The results were devastating. The injury is a severe dislocation that was left untreated for far too long. The nerves and ligaments have been irreparably damaged, making the leg impossible to repair. The only option is amputation.
Our tiny girl is estimated to be only six weeks old, and sadly, she is not healthy enough to undergo surgery at this time. Over the next month, we will focus on improving her health so she can safely have the procedure she desperately needs. She still requires vaccinations and is suffering from a heavy worm infestation, so severe that she is vomiting worms.
Despite everything she has endured, she is a fighter.
✨ Meet Stella. ✨
Now, we are asking for your help once again. Stella's medical care, treatment, and upcoming surgery will be costly, and we cannot do this without your support.
If you would like to help Stella on her journey, donations can be made via e-Transfer, Venmo, Cash App, or directly to our BBVA account.
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference.
Thank you for standing beside us and giving animals like Stella a chance at the life they deserve. We will continue to share updates on her progress as she heals and prepares for surgery. ❤️🐾
🐾 Bueno... aquí vamos de nuevo... 💔
