Kindergarten students MUST ALWAYS have a parent, caregiver, or responsible older sibling at the stop in the morning and afternoon.

It is up to the parents/caregivers decide if/when a sibling is responsible enough to meet the kindergarten sibling at the bus stop. Please let the driver know ahead of time who will be picking up the student.

In the afternoon, a parent, caregiver, or responsible older sibling must go to the bus door and ask for the student by name. This helps the driver make sure the student is leaving with the right person.

If no one is at the stop, the student must tell the driver immediately. STSWR & the bus company will call the contacts on file, and if no one can be reached, the student will be returned to school and met by staff.

Some bus stops in the Parent Portal have a [W] or [ND] beside them. 🚌
That tag tells you that your bus stop is in a township (Wilmot, Woolwich, Wellesley, or North Dumfries).

Because weather in these areas can be more severe than in the city, your bus could be cancelled even if buses in Kitchener, Waterloo, or Cambridge are still running. 🌨️
If you see [W] or [ND], keep an eye on your emails/texts, our website (www.stswr.ca), and social media — you could be affected by township transportation cancellations! 👀

If you do not see these letters next to your stop location, that means your stop is in Kitchener, Waterloo, or Cambridge and is not affected by the township-only cancellations.

Check your Parent Portal at www.stswr.ca today so you know what to look for when winter weather arrives! ❄️

JK/SK students who ride the bus home in the afternoon will receive a Kindie Tag from their afternoon teacher, attached to their backpack. 🎒✨🚌

Tags are colour-coded to match the student’s school and route assigned to them for this year, helping their teacher places them on the correct bus, and the bus driver make sure every student is on the right bus and gets home safely.

Damaged or lost tags will be replaced by your students school.

Bus colours, route numbers, and times can change EVERY YEAR! Check your Parent Portal today at www.stswr.ca to confirm which bus your kindergarten student is on this year!

Not seeing your student’s transportation info in the Parent Portal? Here is why!

For your students safety and privacy, only contacts listed in your student’s official school record (Aspen) can view transportation details. That means:
1️⃣ Your email must be listed as a contact in Aspen
2️⃣ You must use that same email to log in or create your Parent Portal account.
3️⃣ If the emails match, transportation info will automatically appear. You can no longer add a student manually.

If your email does not match the school record, no information will load. Students must also be added as contacts if they want their own access.

Need to update your email? Contact your student’s school office directly. STSWR cannot make changes to contact information.

Is your student eligible for busing but not using it this year? 🚌

Let STSWR know by completing the Decline or Reinstate Transportation form: https://www.stswr.ca/ppf/decline-or-reinstate-transportation

This helps STSWR plan routes, prevents your student from being placed on a bus, and ensures the school does not send them to the bus at dismissal. The change remains in place until you submit the form again, and as long as your student is still bus eligible.

If you completed this form in the past but want your student back on the bus next year and they are still eligible for transportation, you must complete the form again.

❗This is not for bus registration❗ The form is only for students who are already eligible for busing.

Not sure if your student is eligible? Visit the link in our bio and select “Can I Ride a Bus?” to check.

🚌 Busing information for 2026/2027 is now live! Log in or create a Parent Portal account at www.stswr.ca to view your student’s transportation details.

✅ Make sure the email you use for Parent Portal is listed in your student’s official school contact record to see their details.

📧 As a courtesy, only new JK families will also receive an email or letter with their student’s transportation information on this date.

⚠️ Due to high traffic, the website may load slower than usual. If you cannot access your student’s information by Monday August 24, please contact STSWR.
