On World Pilot Day, we’re proud to recognize our helicopter pilots—the professionals operating at the sharp end of some of the most dynamic and demanding missions in aviation.

From precision sling operations and remote site support to medevac readiness and rooftop landings, our rotary-wing flight crews bring a unique combination of skill, judgment, and adaptability to every flight. Operating in complex terrain, confined areas, and rapidly changing weather conditions, they deliver critical support where and when it matters most.

In the North and beyond, helicopters are often the first in and the last out—connecting remote communities, enabling resource development, and supporting essential services. Behind each mission is a pilot making real-time decisions with safety at the forefront.

To our helicopter pilots, thank you for your professionalism, your precision, and your unwavering commitment to safe operations.

This Women in Aviation Week, we’re proud to spotlight Kristen, Commercial Manager at Summit Helicopters!

Kristen joined Summit in 2017 with no prior aviation experience and quickly discovered a passion for the industry. Today, she proudly leads as Commercial Manager, driven by her commitment to delivering safe and reliable service to our clients.

For Kristen, Women in Aviation Week is a chance to celebrate the talented women shaping an industry where they have historically been underrepresented. Her message to women considering this path? Take the leap.

“It’s often the women who step into the unknown who end up paving the way for the next generation in aviation. When we challenge what seems impossible, we help ensure that women continue to have a strong and lasting presence in this industry.”

Kristen says the best part about working at Summit is the people and credits their support for helping her get to where she is today.

One moment she’ll never forget? Sitting in her car before her first interview, listening to helicopter blades turn overhead and thinking ‘that’s a noise I’ll have to get used to.’ Now, she keeps her window open and smiles whenever she hears them.

To Kristen and all the women across Summit, thank you for all that you do!
