Another travel for credit opportunity behind us and heading back to Canada. We learned about ancient cultures, customs, foods, world historical significance and about Greek mythology & philosophy - the rest was Greek to us 🤣🤣. Look for Yr. 2028 travel for credit program announcements in January. CHM-4E- Adventures in World History course work due Friday, December 18th.

Angela, our guide, gave us a tour of the archeological site in Delphi. Students learned about the Temple of Apollo and explored the Delphi museum. A lot of learning about Greek cultures, beliefs and customs.

Maria, local historian, gave us a tour of the ancient 🥇 Olympia sportscentre 🏟and an explanation of the Olympic symbol and games established 776 BC, honouring the God Zeus. Students explored the Statue of Nike and Temple of Zeus. Students learned more about Greek 📖 philosophy, mathematics 🎨 and artists. Students learning about architecture, Mediterranean diet and much more. Students ended the day with an olive oil tasting tour. Enjoying ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ accommodations. Next stop, Delphi!

Sofia, our local guide, gave us a tour of the Epidaurus Theater 🎭 built in 4th century BC. An acoustic marvel that held 18,000 people. We visited The Acropolis of Mycenea and participated in a Mycenean pottery🏺 workshop, where students made the Goddess of Gaia (mother earth). A historical lesson on the Trojan war with lunch at Polizoras. We are off to Olympia.🏅

Athens to Peloponnese today. We are in the birthplace of the Olympic 🏅Games and we had a tour of the Temple of Poseidon bce.440. An ancient sanctuary dedicated to the God of the Sea. Lunch on the Corinth Canal, connecting the Ionian Sea with Saronic Gulf. We explored historic Naufplion city, the original capital. Greece has 6800 islands and 272 with inhabitants. An introduction to many Greek gods and mythology while on tour today. Souvlaki and other great greek foods on the menu, including a dessert called Galatopita. Many agricultural products - olives, grapes, oranges, lemons, limes.
