Athabasca Falls in Jasper National Park isn't the tallest in the world at only 79' but the force is very impressive!! The river flows into a narrow gorge causing huge whirlpools and rapids as the whole river is funneled into the 50' chute.

Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park is an amazing color of blue-green and surrounded by snowy mountain peaks. From the relaxing lake, you can even see 3 glaciers!
On our hike, we found a set of "Red Chairs" along the shore. These chairs are placed by Parks Canada all over Canada in places off the beaten path. The locations are carefully selected as a special spot for lucky visitors to rest, relax & discover the best of Canada. These days the red chair has become an inviting symbol of getting away to explore in a quiet and stunning place.

Arriving in Jasper National Park we wasted no time trying to see everything! Drove straight to the Jasper SkyTram to get to the top of the 8,100' Whistlers Mountain for an incredible view from above of the whole village and park.
We even spotted a little pika already busy building her nest for the coming winter!

We are behind in going through our photos but wanted to take a minute out of order to say our thoughts are with the town of Jasper, Alberta, Canada.
Very shortly after our visit there, a large wildfire hit the area. That fire continued to spread and sadly destroyed nearly 50% of the amazing town. The fire still burns today.
Sharing that chapter of our adventure is coming up soon so wanted to post now we are safely away from the area that is still closed indefinitely due to the fire.
