Confirming -- Free train rides will go ahead tomorrow (Sunday) !
With a drier day tomorrow, especially in the afternoon, we're going to try running the scheduled free train rides (though possibly with a slightly later start than 11 AM).

The forecast looks better, afternoon high of 21 but also breezy, so the suggestion is to dress warmly

And more good news is that there are no lane closures on the Burlington Skyway bridge.

This Sunday will also feature "Boats in the Park", and,
A food truck will be on sight incase you get hungry!

The forecast for significant rain has forced us to cancel free train rides on Saturday (tomorrow).

Sunday May 24th looks better, so we are planning on providing free train rides on Sunday, 11 AM to 3:30 PM. An update will be provided tomorrow (Saturday) night.

This Sunday will also feature "Boats in the Park", and,

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Saturday's free Golden Horseshoe Live Steamer train rides is chilly with a high of 50.
But even worse, significant rainfall. Therefore, there is a high likelihood that we will have to cancel the rides for Saturday.
A further bulletin will be issued Friday night.

Sunday's weather looks much more promising -- warmer and drier -- so we are still planning to operate on Sunday, May 24th, 11 AM to 3:30 PM.
A confirmation bulletin will be issued Saturday evening.

Next public rides date will be Saturday, June 13th, 11 AM to 3:30 PM. If this weekend is a wash (no pun intended) please plan to join us then.

We're looking for a few good railway enthusiasts!

Now in our 51st year!

Membership in our miniature ride-on railway club is open to anyone who enjoys the world of trains.

Families are welcome. You need not own a locomotive. Ours are either electric- gas engine- or live steam-powered.

There are volunteer opportunities for you to learn a new skill and participate as locomotive drivers, station masters, conductors, greeters, grounds keepers, mechanics, carpenters, painters, electronics specialists, computer operators, publicity/public relations persons, photographers/videographers, retired railway personnel, and more.

Fresh air, exercise, and camaraderie - friendly volunteers who enjoy the hobby and operating the free train rides we provide to visiting families.

The Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers are pleased to present our
2025 Christmas Model Train Show at the Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology in the Woodshed. Volunteers will be running scale model steam and electric trains decorated for the holidays. "Children" of all ages are invited to see various miniature train layouts and speak with GHLS club members including our mascot Murray the Pooh.
Please note that because of room capacity restrictions, visitors will be admitted on first come, first served basis for time-limited stays so everyone can move through the exhibit and enjoy.
