One week after ice-out and Gull Lake is coming alive! Buffleheads, mallards, Cormorants, bald eagles, and of course the spring favorite nesting momma geese. Remember to paddle a respectful distance from the nests while staying close enough to shore in cold water formation.

Congrats to the newly certified of Canada Winter Field Leaders. This group completed their Field Leader hiking course in -35°C conditions during a multi day classroom power outage January 2026! AND just completed their Winter Field Leader course this past weekend during mild march early spring wet wintery conditions. The youth and families of NDG Montréal are lucky to have such great outdoor leaders serving them!

SGO Just completed instructing another great Outdoor Council of Cabada course! This group did their Field Leader Hiking course last January in -35°C conditions during a multi day classroom power outage and just did the Winter Field Leader module this past weekend in early spring wet wintery conditions! The youth and families of Notre Dame de Glace are in great hands with these leaders!
