I have a love hate relationship with this truck.

Pros -
It’s paid for, simple to fix, ELD exempt, I don’t care if it gets muddy, everyone thinks it looks cool.

Cons-
it’s not a Pete, it’s old and has old truck issues, it’s kinda rough, kinda noisy, kinda needs more power.

Every time I think of selling it, I remember how often it gets us out of a pinch, how cheap it is, and how much it would cost to replace. 😩

We know that truckers and trucking companies often have a bad rap.
Thats fine, and probably deserved. All we can do is be better, one load at a time.

A bit of a crazy last few days. Had loads lined up and found out the X15 was putting coolant in the oil. That was on last Wednesday. Tuesday we headed out to Fox creek to bring a 460 JD rock truck back to Ken-co. Mission accomplished.

If your mechanically minded or own an X15 this may interest you. We have a bit of a custom build on this one and are really impressed with it. It is fully deleted (has been for a while) and when the vgt turbo started sticking we swapped it out for a borgwarner s400. As you cummins guys know, deleting the VGT is great except you lose your jakes.

When we did the rebuild we dropped the compression and swapped the cam out for a Euro V cam. The truck sounds better, runs cooler, and the jakes are downright respectable, at least twice as effective as they were with factory compression and cam. We are very happy with the results, and I am looking forward to getting some data on fuel burn as we break the new motor in.
