Baseball bat in your carry-on?

That’s a swing and a miss. ⚾

Items like baseball bats, billiard cues and ski poles are not allowed in carry-on baggage, but they may be allowed in checked baggage.

Before your next trip, check Canadian Air Transport Security Authority’s list so you know your gear is packed in the right place.

✈️🛃 Ever been asked to go through an extra check in the security line and wondered why?

Random additional screening is a legislated requirement at airports in Canada. Random selection helps maintain strong security standards by building unpredictability into the screening process.

🐾 Flying with your pet anytime soon? Here’s what to know before you reach the security checkpoint:

• Pets need to come out of their carrier before screening.
• The empty carrier goes through the X-ray - your pet does not.
• Check with your airline in advance for any additional requirements.

If your pet gets nervous in busy spaces, you can ask a screening officer whether a private screening room is available.

What an incredible weekend at the Grande Prairie Airport! ✈️

We were proud to be the host location for the Grande Prairie Regional Airshow, organized by the Rotary Clubs of Grande Prairie, and to welcome more than 8,000 attendees to our airport.

Congratulations to the Rotary Clubs of Grande Prairie and the many performers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, partners, emergency services personnel and others who worked behind the scenes to bring this event to our community.

Thank you as well to everyone who attended for your patience and cooperation as changing weather conditions were managed throughout the weekend.

It was wonderful to see our community come together for such a memorable event. Enjoy looking back at some of the highlights!

A small device. A serious risk. 🔥

Did you know vapes and e ci******es can overheat or turn on accidentally? This increases the chances of a fire on board an airplane.

Keep it safe and always pack these devices in your carry-on luggage, so any issue can be handled right away. 🧯

💊✈️ Your medications can fly with you, even those over 100 mL.

Here’s what to know before you pack them:

🧴 Liquid, gel and aerosol medications - permitted in your carry-on, even over 100 mL.

🛄 No need for the 1 L clear bag – medications can stay separate.

👀 Ensure prescription and essential non-prescription medications are readily available for inspection at screening.

✅ Keep medications in their original packaging and clearly labelled whenever possible.

✅ Most solid medications, including tablets and vitamins, have no volume limits.

⚠️ Powdered or mineral-based supplements - certain powders and granular materials are limited to a total of 350 mL in your carry-on.
