its/where in the new location, with organizational tips to make the most of the new space.

• Carefully pack all furniture and possessions that have been selected to be moved to the new location.

• We have a fantastic experienced moving team, who will carefully and efficiently load, pack and delivery your furnishings safely.

• We proved a zippered re-usable bag for you to carry all the important necessities with you, glasses, medication, jewellery, your personal address book and the tv remote control so it is within reach and at your finger tips when you need it.

We will be sure to have each room organized and safe, make the bed, hang clothes in closet, set up the bedside table as it was at home so everything feels familiar from the very first day! We even test all the lamps to make sure, the bulbs work, incase someone gets up in the middle of the night and aren’t yet familiar with thier new surroundings.

• We are very proud of our Downsizing and Estate Services. Once the family has determined what they would like to keep, our experienced team donates everything we physically can to keep items up-cycling through community donation organizations. With our large team, we can usually downsize (for real estate photos) or empty a house completely in one day allowing for a faster real estate sale.

This season often brings conversations that may have been sitting quietly in the background for months.

Conversations about downsizing, simplifying, moving closer to support, or preparing for a new chapter seem to bloom a little more this time of year.

While these decisions can feel overwhelming, spring is often the ideal time to begin planning. Longer days, better weather, and more flexibility before summer schedules become busy can make the transition feel more manageable for everyone involved.

If these conversations are beginning in your family, now is a good time to start exploring your options and preparing ahead for the months to come.

Spring yard work season has bloomed and many families are opening garages, sheds, and workshops only to realize just how much has accumulated over the years.

Ladders, yard tools, pressure washers, equipment, and seasonal items can be some of the hardest belongings to know what to do with during downsizing, especially when they’re still useful, valuable, or in working condition.

Through our partnership with MaxSold, these items can often be included in estate sale auctions to help belongings find new homes instead of heading to landfill.

If your family is beginning the downsizing process this season, we’re here to help support every corner of it.

Sometimes there are items that no longer have a clear place, but still hold history.

Old golf clubs, vintage phones that somehow still work, garment bags from decades ago. Collections, keepsakes, and everyday objects tied to memories, routines, and people.

Many seniors and families feel stuck wondering: “What do we do with all of this?” Not everything can stay, but not everything feels right throwing away either.

At Seniors on the Move, we help families navigate these decisions with patience and care. Whether that means helping identify donation opportunities, finding ways to responsibly re-home items, coordinating clean-outs, or simply supporting families through the emotional side of letting go.

The hardest part of moving, is usually everything attached to those boxes.

For many seniors and families, downsizing means navigating memories, routines, grief, change, and difficult decisions all at once. What looks like “stuff” to others may represent decades of life and identity. That’s why support during a senior move should go beyond logistics alone.

If your family has started talking about downsizing or relocating, we’re here to help make the process feel less overwhelming.

Reach out to Seniors on the Move to start the conversation.

Most people think downsizing is about deciding what to keep ...
.. when infact, one of the main challenges is the physical strain that comes with moving itself.

Heavy boxes, stairs, cluttered walkways, and disrupted routines can quickly become safety concerns for older adults during a move.

That's why we help make transitions safer, calmer, and more manageable with hands-on support for downsizing, packing, organizing, and settling in.
