We are going to have a very special guest with us at the Cape Breton Eagles Irish jersey Night! 💚
Join us at Centre 200 this Friday, March 17th at 7PM where Dena Edwards Wadden will be dropping the puck as our guest of honour.
Dena was diagnosed with a rare type of ovarian cancer in October 2021. Much of her care was provided in Halifax due to the specialist appointments and surgery she needed. After realizing the stresses that come along with a cancer diagnosis, she developed a fund through our Foundation to help other women diagnosed with gynecological cancers, the Teal at Home fund.
To support the fund, Dena hosted Teal to Heal, a walk and run that raised $116,877. In less than one year, more than $25,000 has been disbursed from this fund to Cape Bretoners battling ovarian and other types of gynecological cancer.
A special thank you goes to our sponsors, Cape Breton Beverages (Pepsi),
Burger King Canada and S*M Trucking Ltd. for supporting Irish Jersey Night, in memory of Greg Lynch, and ensuring 100% of funds raised support the Tom MacNeil Cancer Patient Care Fund!
