TRADE POLICY SHOULDN’T REQUIRE THREE COFFEES BEFORE 9 A.M.
Ship now?
Wait?
Does the tariff apply?
Is there an exemption?
Should we change the routing?
What documentation do we need?
And will the answer be the same next week?

Cross-border trade is complicated enough without making decisions based on headlines and assumptions.

Before you delay a shipment, change a supplier or build an unexpected cost into your budget, get someone to look at the actual goods, origin, destination and timing.

Sometimes the most valuable thing a broker can give you isn't a rate, it's just clarity.

Get advice in less time than it takes to fill your coffee. Reach out to our BBE’s International & Customs team today.

Infrastructure in the North is about more than concrete, asphalt and runways. It’s about creating capacity and opportunity in the communities that call the North home.

The recently announced investment of up to $49.5 million in the Inuvik (Mike Zubko) Airport is an important step forward for the Western Arctic, strengthening a critical transportation hub and improving the movement of people, essential goods and cargo throughout the region.

For BBE, this one hits close to home. Quite literally as in addition to local warehousing, we’re on the ground in Inuvik at the airport where we offer ground handling services for aircraft.

Through IBX Inuvialuit BBE Expediting Ltd., our partnership with the Inuvialuit Development Corporation, we’ve built a model based on something we believe strongly in:

• Northern work should create Northern opportunity.
• That means hiring locally.
• Building local capability.
• Working alongside people who understand the region.
• And ensuring that investment in Arctic infrastructure creates meaningful economic participation for the communities it serves.

As investment in Inuvik and Canada’s Arctic continues to grow, BBE and our Indigenous partners are proud to be part of building the logistics capacity behind it.

Local knowledge. Local employment. Northern capability.
That’s how we build a stronger supply chain and a stronger North.

Federal ministers announced up to $49.5 million in federal funding to modernize the Mike Zubko Airport in Inuvik on Monday. The money will go toward giving the existing cracked runway a consistent paved surface and toward replacing the access road with asphalt.

Global Reach. Northern Roots. And now, a new place to stay at the end of the road.

BBE is proud to celebrate the official opening of the Saliqmiut Hotel in Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, marking the community's first boutique hotel experience.

🛏️ Located at 274 Inuvialuit Lane on the Arctic Ocean, Saliqmiut offers 17 single rooms and 2 two-bedroom suites with local art throughout the property. For a community once reached only by air or ice road, having a purpose-built place to stay changes what is possible, for industry crews, researchers, government visitors, and travellers exploring the Inuvialuit region.

BBE is proud to support the Saliqmiut Project Team in Tuktoyaktuk and Inuvialuit Regional Corporation with logistics and procurement, through our partnership with Inuvialuit Development Corporation (IDC). Projects like Saliqmiut reflect what long-term investment in the North looks like: infrastructure that serves the community first and the region beyond it.

Congratulations to everyone who brought Saliqmiut to life!

What happens when two pharmaceutical shipments follow the same temperature requirement but use different transport solutions?

We compared a standard re**er with BBE’s temperature-controlled unit over a 3-day transit (15–25°C requirement).

💡 Key takeaway:
The standard re**er dropped below freezing, while the BBE unit stayed fully in range throughout.

For pharma logistics, that difference directly impacts product integrity, GDP compliance, and patient safety.

Northern Infrastructure Is About More Than Transportation

When discussions turn to northern infrastructure, the conversation often focuses on roads, airstrips, or construction projects.

But those assets are really about something much bigger.

They're about access.

Access to healthcare.

Access to education.

Access to economic opportunity.

Access to family, community, and essential services.

One of the things we appreciate most about working in northern and remote regions is seeing firsthand how infrastructure connects people to possibilities. This is why we're proud to partner with BBE to help remote communities flourish.

The technical challenges are significant. The impact of getting it right is even greater.

Thank you to the Det'on Cho Group of Companies team for the opportunity to collaborate at and help introduce the Arctic Defence Logistics Platform.

Canada’s North requires trusted partnerships, local knowledge, operational experience, and coordinated logistics capability. Through ADLP, we’re proud to support a model that brings together Indigenous leadership, northern expertise, and practical logistics solutions to help organizations operate effectively in Arctic environments.

We appreciate the teamwork between our two companies and look forward to continuing to build capability, opportunity, and long-term readiness across the North together.

BBE had the pleasure of supporting AdaptAbilities at their annual fundraiser this morning! BBE's financial support helps the organization provide essential, goal-directed respite care, life skills training, and inclusive social programs for families and participants. The Founder of Adaptabilities, Michelle Hordal, made a statement that they are not a 'not for profit' program, but they are a 'for impact program' which really hits home to us.

Adaptabilities offers various services, including center-based group programs, in-home services, and summer camps for kids and adults living with visible and invisible disabilities. Learn more https://adaptabilities.ca/
