This Father’s Day, we recognize all the dads who help keep our families, communities, and industries moving forward.

In trucking, being a father often means making sacrifices that go unseen like missing birthdays, school events, family dinners, and moments at home while working hard to provide for the people who matter most. The miles can be long, but the love and dedication behind them never fade.

Today, we also celebrate the grandfathers, stepfathers, foster fathers, single parents, uncles, mentors, coaches, and anyone who has stepped up to guide, support, protect and care. Fatherhood is about more than biology, it's about showing up, making sacrifices and leaving a positive impact on the lives of those around us.

June is Men's Mental Health Month.

Mental health challenges are often invisible. Many people continue showing up for work, supporting their families, and carrying on with daily life while struggling in silence. In Canada, men account for nearly 75% of all su***de deaths, despite making up roughly half the population. Men are also less likely to seek help due to stigma, societal expectations, and the pressure to "tough it out."

June is Pride Month, a time to recognize the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels respected and included.

While Pride is a celebration for many, it also serves as a reminder that acceptance isn't something everyone experiences equally. Many people still face discrimination, isolation, and challenges with belonging within their own families, workplaces and communities.

In industries like transportation where strong opinions and tough conversations are often part of the culture, it can be easy for jokes, assumptions, or comments to make someone feel unwelcome. The reality is that members of this community are our coworkers, drivers, customers, neighbours, friends, and family members. They show up to work, support their loved ones, and contribute just like everyone else.

Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that mental health affects all of us, whether personally or through someone we care about. There is still stigma around talking about mental health, which can make it harder for people to open up or seek support when they need it.

Life on the road can also take a toll. Long hours, time away from family, isolation, irregular sleep, and high stress are all known factors that can impact mental well-being for drivers.

A simple check-in, listening ear, or supportive conversation can make more of a difference than we realize. Make it a consistent habit to check in on those around you even when life gets busy, on the road and beyond.
