Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Mechanic Needed

We are looking to hire a heavy duty mechanic for truck and trailer repair.
Our shop is in Edmonton

Responsibilities:

1. Regular service and maintenance of heavy equipment, heavy trucks and trailers

2. Advise management of significant repairs required to units.

3. Assist in the sourcing and ordering of parts when required

4. Follow all safety policies and procedures

5. Assist in the keeping of a safe and clean work area

6. Job site equipment repairs and service when required

7. After hour emergency repairs if required

Qualifications

1. Qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic

2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the medium/heavy duty truck industry is required

3. High degree of product and technical knowledge with a well rounded understanding of highway transport vehicles.

4. Engine diagnostics experience is considered an asset

5. Organized & self motivated

6. Customer focused with a strong work ethic to produce quality work in a timely manner.

7. Good communication skills both written and verbal

8. A good understanding of warranty requirements and processes

9. Have the ability to deal with large volumes of work and stressful situations

10. CVIP license is an asset

11. Class 1 license is preferred

We have an urgent need for an employee in this role. DISPATCH PLANNER*********

Must have at least 1 year of cross-border planning experience.
Must have experience with ACE, ACI, Loadlink, and Dispatch Software.
Fluent in English, bilingual is an asset.
Strong ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate over the phone.
Brokering Loads and negotiating rates with carriers.
Negotiate trucking rates according to the current market.
Help resolve all issues, including problems with drivers, customers, dispatchers, customs, and load booking.

Monitor and direct the dispatch team at all times, to improve performance.
Implement new rules and procedures within dispatch and operations.
Train and direct new dispatch staff.
Looking for loads, FTL, LTL, Canada - wide and Cross-border.
Thoroughly planning and dispatching (outbound and inbound) Flatdeck trucks.
Coordinating and managing driver runs and schedules.
Maintaining accurate data entry and records related to all planning on the “Planning Board.”
Prepare reports as required by Management.
Inputting checkpoints to monitor dispatch employees and ensure accuracy.
