Let’s talk about money.

Here are some questions to consider for our conversation:

1. How much does it cost every time a case is brought before a judge? (Lawyer, court fee, judge, etc.).
2. How much does it cost for animal control to remove a dog from a family?
3. What is the limit a municipality is willing to spend on destroying a family and removing their loving, loyal, innocent dogs?
4. How much is too much when it comes to loss of wages due to stress?
5. What do you think is appropriate to spend to try to save your innocent pet from destruction, eons in a cage, or shipping out of province?

Well, once again, we bring up the case against little Lulu, a pure breed American Bully, and Blue, an American Bulldog/Boxer cross, who has been the target of vicious hate from animal control since January 2021. Yes, you read that right - 16 months of torture to Blue and Lulus family. Not only is their case continuously pushed back (starting in January 2022, then it was February, then March, now JUNE!!), their family’s mental health continues to deteriorate with worry, their financial status continues to be drained from legal fees, and the torture and torment in their every day lives seems to be never ending.

To date, the estimated cost to Arran Elderslie township is approximately 25,000$ including but not limited to animal control salaries, police force salaries, court costs, and lawyer fees. They certainly don’t seem to care that they are literally throwing away tax dollars ALL to persecute an innocent family and their innocent dogs… the cost to Blue and Lulu’s family goes way beyond money - it is costing them not only their savings, but also their mental health.

When will the people in Arran Elderslie and the rest of Ontario stand up and let this township know what they are doing is wrong? I’m more than sure the 25,000$ and counting bill could be used for much better things, such as street repairs, community incentives, Childrens programs, and the list goes on… but instead they continue to persecute Blue and Lulu’s family, and they continue to be tortured, drained (financially and mentally), and terrified for the safety of their dogs..

When will the government stand up and abolish BSL so this bull s**t stops? Enough is enough, BSL MUST end before there are more victims, both human and canine.

Should anyone wish to contribute to the fund for legal costs for the family, please PM the page for etransfer instructions. And PLEASE, write to Premier Ford ([email protected] and [email protected]) to express your anger about the continued practice of Breed Specific Legislation in Ontario.

We all remember Deanna Wheeler’s two beautiful American Bully’s who were seized by the Municipality of West Grey’s Animal Control Officer on March 15, 2021, right?

Well, Deanna and her three grandchildren have been separated from their beloved pets for almost 220 days now and their suffering continues. Although the Municipality of West Grey states that this matter is now closed, it is most definitely NOT OVER.

Deanna has retained a paralegal firm in Owen Sound who has brought a Small Claims’ Court action against West Grey for the return of her precious Nove and Dexter and substantial damages due to the emotional and psychological trauma that the entire family has and continues to endure. West Grey has been served with this Plaintiff’s Claim and Deanna’s legal representative is awaiting the municipality’s Defence to the action. This discrimination against these American Bully’s (who have been their own registered breed since 2013) must stop, and it must stop NOW!
