Montego Bay has been needing a resort at this level, and as someone who already loves the UNICO brand, I can’t wait to see UNICO Montego Bay come to life.

An adults-only, elevated option in Jamaica with that UNICO feel?!

One of the questions I get asked most often is, "How bad is the sargassum?"

It's a fair question. If you're booking a beach vacation because you want to spend your days swimming in the ocean, it's something worth talking about before you book.

Mexico has recently announced a large-scale initiative to help reduce the amount of sargassum reaching some of its most popular beaches.

Rather than waiting for it to wash ashore, the plan focuses on stopping it offshore. Approximately 50kms of containment barriers are being installed, specialized collection vessels will remove sargassum while it's still at sea, and military personnel, hotel teams and local governments will continue clearing what does make it to the beaches.

The largest collection vessel will be capable of removing up to 700 tonnes, and the effort comes as the Mexican Caribbean is experiencing one of its heaviest sargassum seasons on record.

Will this solve the problem completely? Probably not. Sargassum is a natural phenomenon, and its severity changes from year to year depending on ocean conditions.

What it does tell us is that destinations like Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and the Riviera Maya are investing heavily in protecting the beaches that are so important to both visitors and local communities.

It's also why I will discuss your travel style and priorities. If spending your vacation in calm, swimmable water is at the top of your wish list, there are certain areas, resorts and even times of year that may be a better fit than others.

Over 750 travel advisors shared their favourite adults-only resorts in the Dominican Republic, and these are the results.

Do I agree with every ranking? Probably not. 😊

If you're starting to think about your next adults-only getaway, this is a great place to begin.

That said, rankings are only one piece of the puzzle.

The best vacation is the one that fits your travel style, priorities, and budget. The beach, the atmosphere, the food, the level of service, the room category...every traveller values something a little differently and I love helping you figure that out.

✨ One of Cancun's most popular adults-only resorts is back after a year-long, multi-million dollar renovation and there are a few things that caught my attention.

Hyatt Zilara Cancun has officially reopened, and after learning more about the renovations, I can definitely see why it's generating so much buzz.
Here are a few of my favourite features:

- Every room has an oceanfront view. That's something you don't see very often, and it means no stressing over whether you've booked the "right" room category just to enjoy the Caribbean.
- A hidden speakeasy? Yes, please! This intimate mixology experience is included for guests (with reservations) and even features live music. What a fun way to spend an evening.
- Dinner comes with entertainment. Each evening restaurant offers its own live performances - from mariachi at the Mexican restaurant to jazz at the Italian restaurant - adding a little something extra to every meal.
- If you're someone who likes to stay active on vacation, you'll also find Pilates reformer classes, aqua spinning, and a lap pool overlooking the lagoon.

With just 310 rooms, adults-only accommodations, and every room facing the ocean, Hyatt Zilara Cancun is a great option for couples looking for a relaxing all-inclusive with plenty of dining and entertainment included.

Every resort has its own personality, and that's why I don't believe in a "best" resort. Rather, I believe in the best resort for you. Hyatt Zilara Cancun has some really unique features, and I can definitely see it being an excellent fit for travellers looking for a smaller adults-only resort with incredible ocean views, lively evenings, and a great mix of relaxation and entertainment.
