The kitchen is one of the most used rooms in your home — and one of the hardest to pack.
Between fragile dishes, awkward appliances, and items you need right up until moving day, it takes a strategy.
Here’s how to tackle it without the chaos:
✔️ Start 2–3 weeks early with items you rarely use — specialty appliances, extra dishes, seasonal cookware
✔️ Use dish boxes and cell dividers for plates and glassware
✔️ Wrap fragile items individually in packing paper — not just newspaper
✔️ Pack heavy items in small boxes so they’re manageable to carry
✔️ Create a “last night” box with one pot, one pan, utensils, and a few basics to get through moving day
✔️ Label every box with both the contents and the destination room
A well-packed kitchen means less breakage, faster unpacking, and one less thing to stress about.
