Creston is known for its bounty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and there’s nothing quite like a perfectly ripe peach, a tart blueberry, or a crisp pepper.

This time of year, our local fruit stands are bursting with delicious produce, homemade preserves, freshly pressed juice, and other locally crafted goodies. It’s one of our favourite ways to enjoy the flavours of the Creston Valley.

What’s on your plate this season?

An ideal summer weekend in Creston? We have a few ideas…

Start your morning at one of Creston’s amazing coffee shops, grab your favourite drink to go, and wander through the farmers market. Listen to some live music, sample delicious local treats, and stock up on whatever’s in season. This weekend, you might just find some sweet local corn!

Next, head to the lake or one of your favourite hidden swimming spots. With so many beautiful places to cool off around the valley, there’s no shortage of options.

On your way home, make the most important stop of the day: ice cream.

Then, finish the evening on your favourite patio, drink in hand, soaking up a little more of that Creston summer.

There are countless ways to spend a summer weekend here, but this one sounds pretty good to us.

Where is your weekend taking you?

Welcome to The Flats Dirt Collaborative! Located just west of Creston on Highway 3, this rustic farm stand and U-Pick is the perfect place to slow down, enjoy the farm, and make some summer memories.

Fill your basket with luscious strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, fresh herbs, and beautiful flowers — all grown without spraying!

You’ll also find a selection of homemade products made with all-natural ingredients, including salves, deodorants, and other farm-made goodies.

As you explore the berry-picking path, be sure to say hello to the farm’s friendly and very petable crew, including mini Jersey cows, sheep, alpacas, and emus.

And when you’re ready to cool off, grab a scoop of ice cream or one of their amazing homemade fruit slushies made with natural fruit.
