Today, September 30, marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Creston Valley area is part of the ʔamakʔis Yaqan nuʔkiy – the traditional and unceded territory of the Yaqan nuʔkiy Ktunaxa people (Lower Kootenay Band).

We encourage residents and visitors alike to take time today for reflection, listening and learning, including by visiting ʔak̓uǂni Park in downtown Creston or learning more through the Yaqan Nukiy Interpretive Centre at Legend Logos.
