🚌 Empowerment on the Road: Prioritizing Student Safety!

Today, Parsons & Sons Transportation Ltd. had the absolute pleasure of hosting Ryan from Epilepsy NL at our facility for an invaluable session of Seizure First Aid Training.

Our school bus drivers and staff completed Epilepsy NL's Seizure First Aid training module, with specific attention placed toward public transit and student transportation.

When it comes to the safety and well-being of the students and passengers in our care every day, continuous learning is essential. Equipping our team with the knowledge, confidence, and specialized skills to recognize and respond to a seizure ensures every ride remains safe, supportive, and inclusive.

A huge thank you to Ryan and the Epilepsy NL team for their incredible work and dedication to empowering local organizations like ours! 🌟

🚌 A Successful First Week of the 2026–2027 School Year!

What an incredible start to the new school year! A massive congratulations to our parents, students, and a special shoutout to the unmatched dedication and professionalism of our all-star drivers at Parsons & Sons Transportation Ltd.

A school bus driver's responsibility starts long before the first child ever steps aboard. Every single day, our team proves that they are truly more than drivers, but they are professionals:

- They carefully check the bus and know the route inside and out.

- They watch the road, stay alert, and make the hard calls when it matters most.

- Above all, they protect the children in their care and make sure every seat filled that morning makes it safely back home.

🚌 Welcome back to a brand-new scholastic year, students of Newfoundland & Labrador! 🎒

As we kick off the 2026–2027 school year, Parsons & Sons Transportation Ltd. wants to remind everyone that school bus safety is a shared responsibility. When your child steps onto the bus, you are trusting us with what matters most—your child.

We kindly implore parents to take a few minutes to sit down with their kids and discuss some of the crucial content shown in the image below. The bus is a moving vehicle carrying precious cargo, not just another place to socialize:

Bus Rules: Remind students to always stay seated while the bus is moving, keep the aisles clear, and keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves.

Bus Behaviour: Talk to your children about using appropriate language, following the driver's instructions, and avoiding yelling, rough play, or throwing objects so the driver can focus on the road, traffic, and outside hazards.

Understanding Consequences: Review that safety is not optional—unsafe behaviour can lead to consequences ranging from warnings and seat changes to bus suspensions or loss of riding privileges.

Road Safety Reminders: Always remember that flashing red lights mean STOP—it's the law!

Thank you, parents, for helping us keep your children safe. Together, we can make this a safe and successful school year.

🚍🚍Safety First Friday: Getting Ready for the New School Year!

Happy Safety First Friday from everyone at Parsons & Sons Transportation! With the new school year just around the corner, we want to make sure everyone is fully prepared for a safe and smooth start on the road.

Before the buses roll out for the first day of classes, please take a moment to review these essential street-crossing rules with your children:

Always Cross in Front: When crossing the street near a school bus, always walk in front of the bus—never cross behind the bus.

Wait for the Signal: Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop, look at your driver, and wait for their explicit signal before stepping out. Never cross before the driver gives you the go-ahead.
Look All Ways: Always look left, right, and then left again before crossing.

Walk, Don't Run: Always walk—never run—across the street, and keep watching for traffic the entire time.

Stay Visible: Make sure you stay where the driver can see you. If your driver motions for you to stop, stop and wait.

Follow Directions: Always follow your driver's instructions closely, as they may ask you to wait, stop, or adjust your position before crossing.

Let’s work together to make this school year our safest one yet. Have a wonderful final weekend of summer, and we will see you on the road bright and early next week!

Celebrating the Driving Force Behind Parsons & Sons! 🚌✨

August and September are always a whirlwind around here. With the tourism season in full swing keeping our motorcoaches on the move, and the brand-new 2026–2027 school year gearing up, our team has been working at an incredible pace.

To say a proper thank you for the long hours, the early mornings, and the unwavering dedication, we teamed up with Big R Restaurant today! Their food service vehicle rolled right up to our lot to treat our amazing drivers and support staff to a well-deserved, delicious lunch.

Behind every safe journey, smooth route, and smiling passenger is a phenomenal group of people who make it happen day in and day out.
Thank you to all of our drivers and staff for your continued hard work, professionalism, and commitment to keeping our community moving safely and efficiently. We couldn't do it without you!

🚌 Safe Roads, Ready Drivers: Preparing for the School Year!

Last week, our school bus operators kicked off our annual summer training sessions—a vital part of our commitment to student safety. Whether welcoming new drivers to the team or refreshing the skills of our returning staff, these sessions ensure every team member is fully versed in both NLSchools regulations and Parsons & Sons Transportation internal policies and procedures.

Our commitment to safety doesn't stop in August. We provide our staff with a comprehensive, ongoing training program, including continuous modules throughout the school year alongside hands-on practical recertifications. When applied on the road, this extensive training ensures our drivers are completely prepared to protect society’s most precious cargo every single day.

This year, we are also taking driver readiness and fleet safety a step further by rolling out new technology across our entire fleet in conjunction with NLSchools, including the ZONAR 2010 Electronic Vehicle Inspection Recorder (EVIR) for streamlined, reliable pre- and post-trip safety checks.
