Cuba is one of my top places to visit. From stunning beaches and rich, complex history to truly incredible people, it’s a destination that leaves a lasting impression. Over the years, I’ve made genuine friendships with Cuban locals whom I stay in regular contact with to this day.
That said, Cuba isn’t for everyone. Travelers should be aware that shortages can occur and plans may occasionally require flexibility. However, what you gain in return is something special: the opportunity to meet some of the kindest, most hardworking people you’ll ever encounter—people who live simply and appreciate what they have.
If Cuba interests you, my recommendation is to travel prepared, including having solid travel insurance in place. But don’t discount this country. It’s an incredible place to relax, create meaningful memories, and even form lifelong friendships.
