For generations, Lake Commando has been at the heart of Cochrane’s story. Its shores have connected families, cultures, traditions, and communities, shaping who we are and bringing us together.

Blue Heart – Shared Shores Cultural Awareness Week is a celebration of the rich Indigenous, Métis, Francophone, and Anglophone cultures that make Cochrane unique. Through community events, cultural activities, education, music, food, and storytelling, we will honour our shared history while building connections for future generations.

This week is about more than celebrating our differences—it’s about recognizing what we share: a love for our community, our lake, and the people who call Cochrane home.

We invite residents, community groups, schools, businesses, and visitors to join us as we celebrate our past, embrace our present, and build our future together.
