Another door opens along A Country Path… and at Open Skies Farm, it opens long before the sun comes up! 🌅🌻

At 4 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Heather is already in the kitchen, baking fresh goodies for her farm gate market. As the morning light begins to fill the sky, she trades her apron for a basket, heading out to the garden by 8 a.m. to pick fresh vegetables for the 10 a.m. market opening. 🥕🥒🍅

Behind this door is more than wonderful baking and a garden overflowing with the season’s bounty — it’s a farmer who grows, picks and bakes with care, ready to welcome you to her farm.

Come along A Country Path, meet your farmer, and discover just how good it feels to eat fresh, eat local, and know where your food comes from. 💚

Another welcoming door along A Country Path brings us to Timeless Essentials and Crystal’s front porch! 🌿

Crystal’s porch is more than just a place to pick up something special — it’s a place for sharing, reusing and connecting. She has created a wonderful recycling program where customers can drop off egg cartons, mason jars, wicker baskets, and clean, stain-free sheets, giving these everyday items another life.

And with front porch pick-up available, stopping by couldn’t be easier. Although, if Crystal happens to be there, don’t be surprised if your quick pick-up turns into a friendly chat — she always loves one! 💛

Another door opens along A Country Path… and this one is buzzing with life! 🐝🌻

Their door may always be open, but at this time of year, it is very well guarded! As summer begins to wind down, our incredible bees are busy protecting their precious stores of liquid gold from some rather determined would-be robbers.

Behind this tiny entrance is an amazing world — thousands of bees working together, filling their hive with the beautiful honey they have gathered from the flowers along A Country Path.

Martin and I never tire of watching them. There is always something new to discover, and we feel so fortunate to share our lives with these remarkable little creatures.

So this week, open another door along A Country Path and step into our world of bees. 🐝🍯💛

A cooler is always a good idea - many of our members sell fresh products that should be protected from the heat during your drive! While this is very important this week during the heat dome … we recommend it all summer long to keep products safe from the heat and sun! Bonus points if you have an ice pack!

Farm fresh Jersey Milk & Cheese … that’s what you’ll find behind this door! is the first participant in our “Doors of a Country Path” series.

The Sargent family has been Dairy farming for four generations. Farmer Tim grew up farming with his father in Cavan Ontario while Sharyn farmed with her family in Claremont before moving to Enniskillen in 1990.

In 2020 they broke ground on a dream to bring their milk directly to our community. They knew pasture raised jersey milk was special. Naturally higher in cream, protein and calcium - jersey milk has a unique taste and golden colour. While you can often find Sharyn in the store, daughter Melyssa is the “maker”. She operates the processing equipment and makes all the flavoured milks and cheeses.

Sargent’s Milk is available in returnable glass bottles - a call back to the history of door to door delivery in the good old days.

This weekend they will be celebrating their fifth anniversary with a local market and special activities at the Dairy. Head over to their page for more details and to plan your weekend on A Country Path!
