The challenges in Cuba continue to evolve.

Several Canadian travel companies, including Air Canada Vacations, WestJet Vacations, and Sunwing Vacations, have suspended or reduced Cuba programs due to ongoing fuel shortages and operational challenges on the island. While some services are expected to return later this year, schedules remain subject to change.

Another significant update: Visa, Mastercard, and related debit card transactions are expected to stop working in Cuba beginning June 6, meaning travelers may need to rely on alternative payment methods and cash during their stay.

For travelers considering Cuba, it's more important than ever to stay informed and understand that the Cuba of today is very different from the Cuba many remember from years past.
