A welcome stretch of calm weather on the Strait of Georgia.

Spring is underway, and weeks like this are a reminder that safe sailing starts with good crews, sound judgment, and disciplined operations — in all conditions.

Safe sailing to everyone working the coast this season.

If you’re looking to get on the water with a strong coastal team, we’d be glad to hear from you.

What’s the best weather window you’ve had lately?

Marine construction starts with reliable support.

One of our barges currently supporting marine construction work between Whaletown and Heriot Bay.

Projects like this highlight the value of dependable marine support — reliable platforms, coordinated crews, and the ability to adapt to changing coastal conditions. Whether moving materials, supporting construction activity, or providing floating workspace, the right barge setup keeps work progressing safely and efficiently.

We continue to offer barges for charter along with a range of marine services across the coast.

Great work by the team and partners involved in keeping this project moving.

Remote coastal projects succeed or fail at the shoreline — access is everything.

Moving heavy cranes and large equipment into locations without conventional infrastructure requires more than transport. Engineered ramps create the critical interface between land and sea, allowing weight, reach, and capability to be transferred safely under tidal, weather, and site constraints.

In BC’s coastal environment, capital projects depend on understanding that interface and planning every movement accordingly. From load paths and sequencing to timing and conditions, this is where marine experience and preparation matter most.

This is where planning meets ex*****on — at the shoreline.

Forestry was once the backbone of our business, and while our diversification has been necessary, we share the hope of seeing a strong, sustainable recovery that benefits the industry and all its stakeholders.

TLA’s Statement on Provincial Forestry Advisory Council’s Report: From Conflict to Care: BC’s Forest Future

The TLA appreciates and respects the thoughtful report released today by the Provincial Forestry Advisory Council. We welcome its focus on a cross-ministry approach, First Nations reconciliation and co-governance, stability and predictability for industry and investors, and community empowerment; priorities the TLA has long advocated on behalf of its members and the forest sector.

The TLA supports the overall direction of the report and its recommendations, including the shift from volume- to area-based management, adopting regional forest management areas, increased community engagement, First Nations co-management, and improved focus and alignment across the sector.

We look forward to reviewing the recommendations in greater detail, particularly in terms of how they align with the current crisis facing the forest industry, address high operating costs, and support the urgent need for access to fibre.

Delivering modular housing into remote coastal locations requires more than transport — it requires planning, access assessment, and the right marine approach.

Marine delivery allows modular units and supporting equipment to reach communities where road access is limited or unavailable. By moving housing by water, projects can advance efficiently while minimizing disruption and reducing logistical constraints on land.

This kind of work highlights how marine operations play a practical role in supporting infrastructure, housing, and community development along the coast.

Thank you to Muchalat Construction for sharing this photo and for the opportunity to be involved in coastal project delivery.

Before committing equipment or schedules, we take the time to see a site for ourselves.

Our crew boat allows us to access locations like this firsthand — assessing shoreline conditions, water depth, landing access, and operational constraints well before a project begins. That due diligence informs how we scope work, select equipment, and advise our clients realistically.

Clear water, calm conditions, and a good plan don’t happen by accident. They’re the result of preparation, experience, and getting eyes on site early.

Good marine work starts long before the lines are made fast.

Foggy days along the coast have been a reminder of how quickly conditions can change.

Across transportation and logistics, reduced visibility has disrupted schedules and tested operations. On the water, it reinforces the fundamentals we rely on every day: disciplined navigation, clear communication, and a constant focus on safety.

When you can’t see what’s ahead, experience, procedures, and teamwork matter most.

How has the recent fog impacted your work or travel?
