Every Clear Round made a difference!

CPKC donated $140,000 to the Libin Cardiovascular Institute to support heart health and care in southern Alberta during the Spruce Meadows CPKC International Gran Prix in Calgary.

CPKC’s Clear Rounds for Heart, an initiative of our CPKC Has Heart program, donates $10,000 for each clear round jumped, including those with time faults. Since 2014, CPKC’s Spruce Meadows program has helped raise more than $1.77 million for heart health research and care.

The Libin Cardiovascular Institute is a joint entity of Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary that connects world-class cardiovascular research, first-rate patient care and education in Southern Alberta.

The railway never stops as our trains run 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Working on the night train comes with the territory for many of our railroaders, including Rail Traffic Controllers Aleah Manktelow, Dilpreet Bhatti and Kayley Niosi inside the Calgary Operations Centre. Overnights, they manage rail traffic across Canada covering more than 8,100 miles of track.

Teams from across our network faced off in a friendly rivalry at the 43rd annual CPKC Hockey Tournament held in Winnipeg last spring.

The tournament raises money for a charity in the host city and this year we raised a record-breaking $93,266.64 for ! In August at the Winnipeg CPKC Family Day event, we presented a cheque to help Circle of Hearts continue providing vital support and resources to families when they need them most.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and supported the tournament. Together, you helped make this year's event the most successful yet!

CPKC's Superior Tie & Timber tie plant in Vivian, La., produces thousands of railroad ties every week, providing this essential track component to engineering crews across our 20,000-mile network.

For 18 years, Terrance Stromile has worked at the plant, today as an equipment operator, playing an important role at the beginning of a materials supply chain that makes it possible to build and maintain the high-quality track infrastructure critical to keeping our trains moving safely and efficiently.

With more than 20,000 miles of rail network across North America, emergency preparedness depends on strong relationships.

That’s why CPKC’s HazMat team dedicates thousands of hours each year to training and outreach with local contractors, first responders and community officials. These efforts help build the skills and coordination needed to respond quickly and effectively when an incident occurs.

By bringing together contractors, emergency responders and CPKC experts, these events foster collaboration and a shared commitment to safety.

As Travis Johnson of High Country Vac Services puts it: “We get to learn from other contractors and first responders as well. It helps facilitate a culture of safety.”

Each year, CPKC’s HazMat team participates in more than 200 emergency response training events, engaging over 8,000 first responders and community officials across North America.

Rail history rolled into Spencer, N.C. Aug. 28–30 as CPKC showcased one of its five America 250 specialty-painted locomotives, KCS 7626, at the NC Transportation Museum, joining more than 30 locomotives from across the industry. Thousands of visitors got an up-close look at railroad heritage and rail's enduring impact.

On display now! KCS 7626, one of our America 250 locomotives, is in Spencer, N.C., for the weekend as part of the N.C. Transportation Museum’s America 250 Locomotive Celebration, running today through Sunday. In what is being called a once-in-a-generation railroading event, visitors can get a unique, up-close look at special commemorative locomotives honoring America’s 250th birthday from dozens of railroads across the country.
