“Our story is one of strength,” President and CEO Keith Creel told railroaders gathered this week across our three-nation network for our latest quarterly town hall as company leaders recapped our latest financial and operation results and discussed our path to success for the rest of the year.

Thank you to our railroaders for the focus and teamwork that keeps CPKC moving forward.

Pullman Railroad Days at the Pullman National Historical Park in Chicago this past weekend celebrated the 100th anniversary of the electrification of the famous Chicago commuter line today called the Metra Electric.

CPKC volunteers joined in the fun by giving rides on CPKC’s Puffer Belly Express heritage mini-train and sharing an important safety reminder: tracks are for trains only.

Did you know that the Puffer Belly Express is modeled after CP 2816 “The Empress” steam locomotive?

Mini-train = big smiles!

Thank you to our volunteers for helping make safety fun and memorable.

A CPKC train delivered the world’s largest watermelon slice to where it is on display in downtown Muscatine, Iowa. Kudos to Dylan Jones for capturing our train as it passes by under a bright blue sky.

Enjoy the weather and get outdoors but always remember to hike safely and never take a shortcut across railway tracks.

Trekking onto railway tracks can have serious and tragic consequences. Make the smart choice for a safe summer.

Plan your route ahead and only cross at designated railway crossings.

🦋🌲 Last weekend, 14 employees and their families planted 1,000 trees at El Rosario Monarch Sanctuary in Michoacán, Mexico, helping restore critical habitat for monarch butterflies. CPKC also donated 25,000 trees, which will be planted over the coming years.

In coordination with the Rotary Foundation, CPKC has donated more than 155,000 trees over the last five years in support of monarch conservation.

Just as our network connects communities, markets and opportunities, monarch butterflies connect ecosystems on their remarkable journey from Mexico to Canada.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this year's planting a success. 💚

Modern freight rail is more than just tracks and steel; it is one of the world's most advanced logistics networks.

At CPKC, we deploy innovative technologies at scale across our network. Our teams use their resources and field experience to research, develop, and put new ideas to work.

From the top down, CPKC makes technology and innovation a core part of how we operate.

We do more than adopt change.

We drive it across our operations and across the industry.

At Calgary's Ogden Park, three of the world's first hydrogen-powered switching units equipped with remote-control locomotive systems are now moving revenue freight with zero GHG emissions at the point of use.

The railroaders operating these units, modernized in West Virginia, use the same controls and maintenance processes as any other unit in the fleet. Hear their perspective.

It’s Freight Rail Innovation Week, and this is one way CPKC railroaders are helping move the industry forward. Follow Association of American Railroads for more Week stories.

The Little General mini-train attended the Muscatine County Fair parade held in West Liberty, Iowa on July 12!

The beloved mini-train delighted parade-goers, and CPKC volunteers shared this reminder: tracks are for trains only. Thank you to City of West Liberty Mayor Pro Tem, Cara McFerren, Council member-at-large, for helping us raise awareness for rail safety!

Did you know that The Little General has a real working train horn, is 60 feet long and travels across our network in a 54-foot trailer? Can you guess how we made room for it?

If you see us in your community, we’d love to see your photos!
