She’s back and she’s a beauty✈️🌼Edelweiss is back for another season of nonstop service to Zurich, bringing its new Airbus A350 to Calgary for the first time last week.
We teamed up with local plane spotters to capture every angle of this special arrival, because moments like this are even better when shared with the community that loves aviation as much as we do.

A symbol of support, passed from airport to airport.🌻 Across Canada, the sunflower is on the move this National AccessAbility Week. YYC is joining airports across the country in passing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, supporting a more accessible and respectful travel experience for everyone.
The sunflower helps guests with non-visible disabilities discreetly signal they may need a little more time, patience, or support along their journey.
Pick up a free lanyard, pin, or ID card at our Information Desk (Arrivals, between Doors 7 and 9), or request one ahead of your trip at yyc.com through our Accessibility Assistance Request form.

From offering directions and reassurance, to creating calm during the busiest travel days, White Hat Volunteers lead with kindness and care. Their generosity of time and spirit helps millions of guests feel supported, welcomed and at home, no matter where they’re headed.

As part of the International Year of the Volunteer, we’re deeply grateful for everything our White Hatters do to make YYC a better place to travel. This dedicated group truly is the heart of our airport, showing up with their best every single day.

Sometimes, comfort comes with four legs, a blue bandana and a face that seems to say, “Pet me.” 🐈 🐶 Say hi to our PALS and their owners at the airport to collect their trading cards and see if you can pet them all!

Through our Pre‑Board Pals program, delivered in partnership with Calgary’s Pet Access League Society (PALS), certified therapy dogs and cats visit YYC to help reduce stress and bring comfort to travellers.

These furry volunteers and their owners offer something truly special: connection, calm and care when it’s needed most. We’re happy to support a program that brings compassion into every corner of the terminal.

The conversation will explore how organizations across aviation, economic development and technology are navigating times of uncertainty while prioritizing growth - including the trade offs they’re making and where collaboration across the ecosystem is helping reduce risk, or creating new friction. Air Canada and YYC go so far back, we first partnered under entirely different names!
In 1939, Trans‑Canada Airlines launched its first passenger flights. By the 1940s, it was helping connect Calgary’s McCall Field to Canada’s growing national air network. Eventually Trans-Canada Airlines became Air Canada, and McCall Field became YYC Calgary Airport - but our friendship remained unchanged.

Happy 90th birthday, Air Canada . No matter what we call each other in the years ahead, this is a partnership built to last. 🍁❤️
