Planning Goa from Canada? Five myths, fixed. Share this in your group.
MYTH: There is a direct flight from Toronto to Goa.
FACT: No nonstop from any Canadian city. Typical trips take 20 to 30 hours with one stop, usually Mumbai, Delhi or Doha.
MYTH: Dabolim and Mopa are the same thing.
FACT: Mopa is in North Goa and runs round the clock. Dabolim is in the south, near Panaji and Margao, and shares a runway with the Indian Navy.
MYTH: A separate cheaper domestic ticket is smart.
FACT: If your long-haul lands late, the second airline owes you nothing. A single ticket is safer, especially in December and January.
MYTH: The baggage allowance stays the same.
FACT: On a single ticket, the long-haul allowance usually carries through. On a separate domestic ticket, a basic fare can be as low as 15 kg.
MYTH: December is the best time to book.
FACT: December is the most expensive month. January and February are often cheaper, one aggregator named February the cheapest.
Cheapflights Canada showed returns to Goa from about CA$1,428 in October 2026.
These are snapshots, and December dates cost more.
